Information DUMMIES...from PC to PCH????
Hello everyone,

I just got a PCH C-200 and registered herein the forum.
I have downloaded the user guide but it doesn't tell me so much about how to connect the PC to the PCH via FTP or SAMBA! or maybe I don't get it.
Since I am a disaster in network connection/setup, I need an help from you because I didn't even understand exactly what SAMBA is!! forgive me for this Blush
Can someone please explain to me step by step (or give me a link with a guide) how to properly connect the PC to PCH in order to copy/move folders between them?

Some details:
-PCH C-200
-connected to the WiFi router via LAN cable
-NMT applications installed
-NMT applications (FTP and SAMBA) running
-Toshiba Equium with Windows 7 installed

Hi Gustafarian,
I was reading the explanation in WIKI but I still don't get it.
WIKI says:
Quote:The default username/password for SMB access is:
username:nmt password:1234
the share name is share
The question is, how do I access to SAMBA the very first time?
Where should I have to write username:nmt and password:1234?
Is SAMBA a software I must download and install?
I let the FTP working yesterday night but still didn't get what SAMBA is!?

RE: DUMMIES...from PC to PCH????
you have a Harddisk in the PCH? you installed the NMT applications? you activated the Samba and FTP services?

now share some folder from your PC to see on your PCH or browse the PCH from your PC networkdrives.... if asked for a logon: nmt 1234

PCH-A100/A210/C200/A400 500GB EXT3 HDD<-->HDMIv1.3<-->Onkyo TX-NR1010<-->HDMIv1.3<-->Panasonic TX-P46S10 + 6 Bowers & Wilkins speakers.
10 NTFS 2TB USB drives on 3 hubs attached to the A400, 2 Seagate blackarmour NAS 3TB, 2 Seagate Central NAS 4TB.

The inability to setup and configure the NMT should not be disguised as a defect of the box...

you have a Harddisk in the PCH? yes
you installed the NMT applications? yes
you activated the Samba and FTP services? yes

What I don't know is how to browse the PCH from my PC but it seems from a first look that the link posted by DefBref shows exactly this.
I'll have a better look on it later on today and post a comment here!

RE: DUMMIES...from PC to PCH????
Ok, yesterday I got it work with FTP and SAMBA!
Only one little thing...
I have installed a 3.5" hdd in the original bay and an additional 3.5" hdd just beside with the help of a small U bracket (like in this pic).
I do the mapping of the network drive trough Windows 7 and on "Computer" it shows up only the hdd in the original bay...and the second it remains out!
Why??
Also, is this method secure (I mean the one to add an additional hdd in that way?
