DTS audio drop outs
Hello
This issue has been talked about a lot and I can't understand why this thread was closed: http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...hp?tid=576 I just can confirm the problem with the firmware upgrade: Yesterday I upgraded to the latest firmware, tested with some HD.mkv files and still have audio drop outs. Downgraded to 01-17-090204-15-POP-403 (01 June 2009), drop-outs are gone. This seems to be a problem with the firmware and not the files! Why can't this problem be solved? This only happens with DTS Audio and is very anoying! 1 x Popcorn Hour A-110 1 x Popcorn Hour A-210 2 x ReadyNAS Duo (2x2Gigs) 1 x ReadyNAS Ultra 4 Samsung LCD TV FullHD 52" Phillips LCD TV FullHD 42" |

RE: DTS audio drop outs
Started happening to me also. Never happened in the past and now 2 consecutive MKV movies with DTS dropping every now & then. Both playback fine on PC. I had not downloaded the last firmware update (01-17-100516-15-pop-403-000 August), but having now done so after this problem started it is still the same, so i can't blame this latest firmware version.

RE: DTS audio drop outs
Maybe the original topic has been closed because reverting back to 01-17-090204-15-POP-402-000 solved the issue for many people. Have you tried that?

RE: DTS audio drop outs
DTS dropouts in some MKVs.
I wrote this for the A-110 Player that I own. For the remux to work you have to extract the DTS audio track from the mkv container and then remux it back in. If you just remux the audio directly from the original mkv container the stuttering will remain. Steps: Download mkvtoolnix v4.4.0 and MKVExtractGUI-2 v2.2.1 Open up mkvextract gui add the mkv file with the problem dts audio Check the DTS track, and extract it from the file. Open up mkvmerge gui Add the original video Uncheck the original audio track Add the audio track you extracted while using mkvextract, and make sure its checked Make sure the proper audio track is selected as default Make sure the extra options for compresssion on all tracks are set to none Click Start Muxing Test This worked to fix all of the mkv's I was experiencing dts dropouts with. |

RE: DTS audio drop outs
I had the same DTS audio issues after a recent firmware update. I was about to research reverting back to the earlier version posted above but I thought I'd give the latest firmware a go, 01-17-101217-15-POP-403-000 and it seems to be ok now.
I'll keep an eye (ear) out in case it's still happening though. |

I can confirm the same. Upgraded my two Poppi's A-110 to the lastest firmware released just before Christmas on the 23. December 2010. The release note shows a "12. Minor tweak for MKV DTS drop out issue". I have tried a couple of MKV Files with DTS audio and it seems to work. I will keep an "ear" on it and report again. Looks like the problem is finally solved!
