Looks like the Dune SMART but has the functions of 2 of the SMART units, a HDD and a BD ROM for playback however unlike the Dune SMART it only needs the one unit and one power supply.

Expect to hear new things in or around January CES

From a smaller foot print point of view looks the goods.

But I like the larger form factor to sit nicely with my other equipment.

Given that here in Australia a C-200 costs $400 (local dist), and that mod case at a guess will be 50-60 ero + shipping, then conversion, say $100AU, then a good slim db drive $80, OUCH, it near's the cost of the local MAX price, with the difference being 2 years warranty on the MAX vs 1 year C-200.

Does look good, thou

Cheers

RE: Dune HD MAX looks amazing
As long a the design principal of "form follows function" is maintained I'm happy.
Function is that it need to work with my display and my AVR.
Display is on the wall AVR and NMT are in a rack below....
AVR is regular Receiver size so NMT should follow and blend in...

Following this principal the new A200 casing should have the same form factor as a USB drive... blending in nicely in a stack of USB drives A.K.A. Auxiliary Media Tanks.
What would really be great would be for PCH to sell identical looking stackable USB drive cases, where you could put your own SATA drives in.
Optional identical looking power supply for up to 8 drives and a 8 port USB HUB strip would top it of nicely..

the ever growing media tower.....Wink

Held a job as a IT hardware product developer 25 years ago and it still creeps up from time to time..Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin

PCH-A100/A210/C200/A400 500GB EXT3 HDD<-->HDMIv1.3<-->Onkyo TX-NR1010<-->HDMIv1.3<-->Panasonic TX-P46S10
13 NTFS USB drives on 3 hubs attached to the A300, 3 Seagate blackarmour NAS 3TB

The inability to setup and configure the NMT should not be disguised as a defect of the box

They could call them extension modules, just like... [Subject post]

But your right, would be nice to see Smile
