Question Oh I wish for Spotify support! Is anybody working on this?
There has been some discussions around streaming- and protocol support (rtsp) for some time. But I cannot from the discussions tell whether someone is actually working on Spotify-support on the C-200? Does anybody know?

I wouldn't bother. Spotify is pretty rubbish if you are not using it on your computer.

Support for Android and Sonos is pretty (pun intended) spotty, and searching is very poor, so I can't imagine it would be any better for "lesser known" systems such as NMTs

I agree that search would be a problem. Perhaps also better support for USB/Bluetooth keyboards is needed before a Spotify-client would be a reality. I have never been able to get my Logitech DiNovo Mini (http://www.logitech.com/en-us/keyboards/...vices/3848 to work properly

RE: Oh I wish for Spotify support! Is anybody working on this?
I recall some thread here where someone got despotify running on the C200, but in a chrooted debian. Now, since the PTY-support recently has been added to the 200-series (by woj), I think all dependencies should be covered for despotify, less the audio output issue. I think it got stuck on that?

Audio, video, disco - I hear, I see, I learn.

I read the Boxee Box just got a Spotify app. Would be pretty neat to have this on the PCH too for sure.

Still don`t know why, there is no spotify app.
Would be a big feature. Esspecialy no that one off the big internetprovidors, included it in there service in Holland.
And strangly enough, other brands seem to understand, what a user want.
So Sybas please make a app for spotify, so we can use it aswell.

Greetings from Digimaster.

From what I recall Spotify were approached ages ago by Syabas to become a partner and have an App just like the others. Spotify were not interested.

See they have just got Spotify on Virgin Media now.
Perhaps you should campaign with Spotify for them to take up Syabas approach.

RE: Oh I wish for Spotify support! Is anybody working on this?
Probably never as they have refused any approaches from PCH/Syabas.

So unless some Spotify user with development knowledge can get further I wouldn't hold your hopes up for this soon.

Are you sure about that happening in the near past? Because their Developer's page is quite encouraging

Basically, it's "Go ahead, run wild with our API and do what you want"
