SqueezeSlave available for Popcorn Hour
I've released a mipsel binary of the squeezeslave audio client for slimdevices/logitech squeezebox server, which should work on the A-100, A-110 and B-110. Only tested on my A-110.
See the url below for details. http://forums.slimdevices.com/showpost.php?p=585253 |

RE: SqueezeSlave available for Popcorn Hour
Yet another reason why I should revive my old trusty A100!
The 200-series still lack the alsa-driver, IIRC? Anyway, thank you - and I hope the bug for the modified version is nailed soon. Audio, video, disco - I hear, I see, I learn. Wiki. Wiki? Wiki! |

RE: SqueezeSlave available for Popcorn Hour
Hi duanep,
Thanks for this! I just tried it, but I'm getting following message when executing squeezeslave-lnx26-mipsel-0.9-208: PortAudio error4: Host error. Could not open any audio devices. I'm running it on a A110. any ideas? |

RE: SqueezeSlave available for Popcorn Hour
You need to load either the soundcore.ko and em8xxxoss.ko modules or all the ALSA drivers including OSS support.

I have a A100, copied the file squeezeslave-lnx26-mipsel-0.9-208 to my box, loaded the modules that i have downloaded from http://mats.room101.no/oss/ via Code: busybox insmod soundcore.koCode: busybox insmod em8xxxoss.koI also get the error message: PortAudio error4: Host error. Could not open any audio devices. Have you any suggestions? Or do you need any additional information? Best regards. ene. |

RE: SqueezeSlave available for Popcorn Hour
You shouldn't need the busybox as part of the command.
insmod soundcore.ko insmod em8xxxoss.ko This will list the sound device if the sound modules loaded okay. squeezeslave-lnx26-mipsel-0.9-208 -L Output devices: * 0: /dev/dsp If not, perhaps Goophy can help out. The above two insmod commands are all I need on my A-110 to get it working. |

RE: SqueezeSlave available for Popcorn Hour
Unfortunately, I don't have a C-200 so no squeezelsave is not available for it.

RE: SqueezeSlave available for Popcorn Hour
I've completed a dynamic ALSA SqueezeSlave binary. See the README in the tarball for usage details.
For download details see the first post in this thread. |

RE: SqueezeSlave available for Popcorn Hour
Hi
I 'think' I have squeezeslave-alsa-lnx26-mipsel-1.0-237 running on my A100. I get no errors and I see the processes running. Also my squeezebox server can see the squeezeslave and I can start 'playing' music to it. However I'm at a loss as to how to hear music. I fear I just being dumb here, but what do I need to do from the PCH end? or do I have an issue with the sound configs? RE: SqueezeSlave available for Popcorn Hour
Me too, the client is runnig I can see 6 procs:
8507 root 0:02 /share/Apps/SqueezeSlave/squeezeslave-alsa -R -M/dev/null 8508 root 0:00 /share/Apps/SqueezeSlave/squeezeslave-alsa -R -M/dev/null 8509 root 0:00 /share/Apps/SqueezeSlave/squeezeslave-alsa -R -M/dev/null 8524 root 0:00 /share/Apps/SqueezeSlave/squeezeslave-alsa -R -M/dev/null 8525 root 0:00 /share/Apps/SqueezeSlave/squeezeslave-alsa -R -M/dev/null 8526 root 0:02 /share/Apps/SqueezeSlave/squeezeslave-alsa -R -M/dev/null but there is no sound coming from the pch. I tried both the digial audio and analog output. Can you help? p.s. do I have to load the alsa libs every time I boot the pch? (09-08-2011 08:11 AM)grahams Wrote: Hi |

RE: SqueezeSlave available for Popcorn Hour
If I run squeezeslave without -M/dev/null I get this error when I try to play something:
Expression 'PaOssStream_Prepare( stream )' failed in 'src/hostapi/oss/pa_unix_oss.c', line: 1611 |

RE: SqueezeSlave available for Popcorn Hour
I'm also struggling without result yet. SqueezeSlave seems to be playing but no sound.
I see no /dev/snd and 'aplay -l' reports only null device. Searching forums I found that maybe I need a sndddevices script to install but that is nowhere to be found. And what about am8xxxalsa.ko? Must have some use because it is included in the download but I can't insmod because of invalid format. Using PCH as SqueezeSlave would be a nice 'second life' for it but seems to be a mission impossible. Wim |
