RE: Please help, black screen after LOGO.
first remove an internal drive if there is one as just to rule out drive problem. If not use the composite to set the video resolution isntead of going through hdmi

So you don't have an internal drive? If you do, remove it. Also disconnect the Ethernet cable in case you have it connected.

To get the picture back, first try AUTO mode.

Wait until the loading screen disappears, then press TV Mode, release and wait 2 sec, then press 0. Wait for up to a minute to see if you get a picture.

Media tank:A-100 & C-200
TV:Panasonic TH-50PY800MT (HDMI)
Audio:Logitech Z-5500 (Coaxial)

What is AUTO mode?

No i dont have an internal HDD connected just usb which i have disconnected.

Ive unplugged the ethernet cable and ive dont what you said but nothing happens.

I take it i press the above buttons when the popcorn hour logo has just disappeared off the screen and the screen has gone blank?

if so then nothing happens.

RE: Please help, black screen after LOGO.
After the boot logo disappears, the screen goes black.

Then you press "TV Mode" button once on your remote control, wait 1 second, then press "0".

This sets the NMT to "Auto resolution". If all is well, the screen should appear.
If this is the case, navigate to the NMT Settings and choose the TV resolution that your TV supports (not above) and save this settings. Reboot again to check that the settings are OK.

RE: Please help, black screen after LOGO.
If the boot logo shows, that's a clear indication that the NMT is working, but obviously something is bust somewhere.

At this point I'd try out another hdmi cable, try other hdmi port(s) on the Sony TV, try other cable types (composite/component) etc.

ive tried 3 different hdmi cables, 3 hd tvs, composite cable and ive tried all 4 hdmi ports on the tv.

ive just rang the store where i bought it from and he said it sounds like the firmware is corrupt and i should try installing the recovery firmware.

its worth ago.

RE: Please help, black screen after LOGO.
ok no luck.

http://support.popcornhour.com/article.aspx?id=1053

i followed steps a-j and did the recovery and i get the white screen which indicates it was a success and in away it was, it now works with a composite cable but i still cant get it to work with a hdmi cable.
ive even done a rectory reset in the menu.

if someone can solve this your a geniues but im guessing its nackered, although it strange i still get the boot up logo with hdmi before the screen goes black.
ive just tried component again after doing a recovery and that doesnt work eiher.

RE: Please help, black screen after LOGO.
no, this is the 2nd unit thats bust on me, i bought my 1st one around june 09, it kept over heating and crashing so i got it replaced in nov 09, i rang the company up and asked for another replacment but he said the warrenty only lasts a year from the original purchase.

surely i should been entitled to another 1 year warrenty starting from when i got the second unit.

im so pissed off i use my pch all the time.

ive just bought another 3v battery as a long shot but that didnt work.
