[NMJ v1] How long should DB creation take?

It is now @ 9500 photos after 2 days. i have allmost 24000 photos.

This is to slow.

Is there not a solution to do this on a pc with some sort of tool?

yep, it seems that without such solution the nmj wont work for large amount of photos..

I cleaned my photo folders removing some 6000 extra files (HTML, ICON etc folders and files created by the camera) and now nmj is doing the scan again, now for some 19 000 photos. lets see after few days.. fun fun fun...

maybe you guys missed it but for photo there is already a PC Tool available, you can find it here

Yep I red it, but I guess I did not get the point... even after re-reading it now..

I guess that will do the trick even though I dont have the YAMJ... will try later when I get home...

use the tool to create a nmj_database on the PC or fill your already built nmj_database with the Photos on the PC, everything is inside the readme so whats not clear about it?

as I am not on my home pc now I cant investigate too much, I can only read the post and see the attached pic.

It is not mentioned there that: "with this tool you can create the NMJ photo section/wall in your PC and then copy it to C200" or "how to make the photo section in your PC". Which would be a good hint that this is possible

And the attached picture has 3 fields of which one mentions the destination and other two are about YAMJ. Pictures are awesome in instructions, but this picture is just another misleading thing for me as I dont have YAMJ

Ok tnx Werner, but i leave it for now. It's @ 13,500 of 24.000

I guess a have to rebuild again later, i haven much more Photo's that are not on my C200 right now . And i have to rename movies and Tv series.

I have got a serie for the kids Nils Holgeson. folderstructure like this, folder: Nils Holgerson sub folders DVD 01/ DVD 02 etc. And DVD 10 = now the movie 10 with Bo Derek

I will do that when there come a version in my language.

My music was all perfectly made up in Itunes and that looks GREAT

i think with Rev1 the Photo Section is not very usable with a lot of photos, also because the new views didn't make it into Rev1, so currently there is only the category view available which in my personal view doesn't make fun, anyway next version will have 2 extra views also for photo part which will it make more useable, also we will try to speed up loading up thumbnails.

About the pc converter, for Photos on my Core2duo PC it took around 6hours for 13000 photos, my photos are between 5-8mpx.

I used the YAMJ->NMJ tool for my movies and that worked great. My problem is the music, my collection is about 130GB. It's been running for about 85 hours now and is almost 50% done. Any chance of getting a tool for music?

After 4 hours 55 min 17942, Success: 8427, Fail: 9515 of 17 942

after the first 8427 photos I got error:

INFO /folder/folder/image123.jpg
ERROR Error at 1234.Check photo exists error: /folder/folder/image123.jpg.
database disk image is malformed

this text was running on the cmd prompt through all the rest of the photos

running it another time it went through the previosly made files quite fast and actually all the way to photo number 8749 and then continued the scan normally.. dunno what the +300 difference in the success of the first run means but I will leave it running and check it lates.. nite..

This is my third day trying to scan my movie DB. Twice it has gotten halfway and died. I have a total of 803 movies 63 being Blu-Ray so it is a larger database.

But regardless this is a huge step in the right direction and I look forward to additional updates.
