[NMJ] Enhancement Requests

Just read the first post with all the requests summed up. How likely is it that these requests (specifically for the Music section) will be fulfilled?

This would be a dream player if it supported all those features. It's a decent Movie player, but a pathetic Music player (which is why I bought it).

Hi

Easy Random selection and play for VIDEOS and mp3 could be really great.

For example:
You have many video clips or .mp3 in a directory -> You select the directory -> You select random play -> You have x hours of clips or music easily.

Idem for picture directory.

If there is a reading error in a file, it jumps to the next item in the selection but don't stop.
If you use 'next' touch, idem. If you use 'previous', it comes back.
Each time you select random, I'll get another order.
If you select many directories, the random goes through.

When opening the Music Jukebox its default view is by Album. Is it possible to set the default view to 'by Artist'?

I would like to know the same thing as jimmyphotocall wrote earlier.

I bought this device mainly as music player and noticed that it's not too good for it . One of the things that I would like to use the most is option to play all my songs mixed. It's really pretty simple feature to be able to see all your songs in one list and just press play and listen all of them. Now you have to go and put them on the queue and it is not too easy. I tried to make playlist from all of the folders I have, but A-300 couldn't open it. It kinda just froze.. There was ~3000 songs in it.

So, is there going to be changes to music -section or do I have to get another device? For other things the A-300 seems really good, but I'm really disappointed for listening music with it.

Some features I would like to see:

1. Section support
I know it is already mentioned, but I would like to extend it a little further.
I would like to create sections myself.
I have several categories I would like to see in separate walls.
However, chances are slim that everybody likes the same sections, so if we would be able to do this ourselves, that would be really neat.
(I, personally, would like to see: Movies, TV-Series, Children, Home movies, Videoclips, Music)
And then when adding movies we would choose in which to have them available (more than one would be nice)

2. Better Multipart Movie support
I ripped my collection of DVD's to mkv files and I have no idea what to do with the specials on those DVD's
I certainly do not like to have all of the specials to appear as separate movies (with no info whatsoever as these, of course, cannot be found on imdb or most other sites).
Same problem with children DVD's.
These often exist out of several episodes.
I do not want them to appear in the TV-Series either as it are DVD's and not entire seasons anyway (one DVD could contain episodes from different seasons also).
Current solution I use:
I add them together as movie multipart.
The specials, I add together, but separate from the original movie (and then copy the info from the original movie to the specials multipart movie)
What still remains the biggest problem for me is that the name of the episodes in the NMJ all appear with the name of the movie.
It would be nice if we could name the episodes separately, so when going through the specials I know which is the alternative ending and which is the making of (and so on).

There might be a better solution for this, but giving the option to name the episodes separately for a multipart movie would be very nice.

If you want to improve the interface it's simple - go into a joint venture with yamj and have them completely re-do the entire GUI for the a400. Bring this unit to where the public want it. From the splash screen all the way through. Make yamj the entire GUI, let users simply download themes from the App Store, updates to themes and minor tweaks without everyone needing to be a programmer to understand how to simply get this a400 to look good. From a marketing perspective I suspect that everyone wants it to look like yamj but overwhelmed as to how to get it setup, especially mac users. Sorry but the only thing good about the a400 (apart from its video output, is the ipad app). Everything else seems to be for the user to have to fix, rather than popcorn hour to develop and fully embed into the unit. Having yamj on the App Store is great, but does nothing for me if I have to be a programmer to figure it out how to actually get it working. This is not a whinge, this is a plead that someone in admin will bring the GUI into the current era for everyone. Ipad app is great!! That actually won me over to buy a a400 on pre-order ages ago. Just wish it looked as good on the tv. Learn from wd live tv hub - they use themes, one of which the user can select (with less involvement) is the aeon theme.

I would like the "Return" key to ALWAYS return. If I for example watch a movie, why can't I press "Return"? Why do I need to press "Stop"?

When I "Update" the movie info, I need to chose "To Jukebox" - why not just "Return"?

In all scenarios, the "Return" key should return.

I hope it's possible to fix the speed. When I for example watch a movie and press "Stop", it's like 10 seconds before it returns to a menu

This is already a feature. Make your share read only and the NMJ will be created locally.
