[MKV] MKV files don't appear while browsing NAS
I can play the files just fine if I have them on an external HDD plugged into the Popcorn Hour.

but if I try and browse the files on the NAS they don't appear, I can however browse WMV and MOV and some avi files

I'm running a ReadyNAS with 4.00c1-p1 firmware with Jumbo frame support enabled on a gigabit switch

I'm also running the latest firmware update as of today Smile

Is there any reason why I might not be able to see MKV files on the NAS ?

Since there have been problems with 4.xx firmware, I have not updated to this latest firmware as advised by Infrant/Netgear.

ReadyNAS NV+: v3.01c1-p6 [1.00a034], Jumbo Frame enabled on a 100MB switch.
A-100: latest firmware.
I can see and play .mkv files from my 2TB ReadyNAS NV+ normally.

Hop this helps.

Thanks for the info! Smile

I also found the following:

NOTE: Due to the number of users posting problems with the new RAIDiator 4.00c1-p1 release, the ReadyNAS team has put a temporary hold on the firmware until a p2 update can be made available. We apologize for the inconvenience to those who have updated to 4.0 and encountered problems. We hope to make the p2 release available shortly.

I upgraded to the beta versions of 4 a while ago to stream from the xbox360

I'm not sure how version 4 is doing this but I hope it gets fixed in p2

The odd thing is that I can play them from a PC with no issues

I found the solution...

I've been just browsing the NAS and selecting files but I recently created a share to the NAS and the files now appear and play fine.

I'm still running the same version of the ReadyNAS firmware

Hopefully this helps others Smile
