m2ts Audio Issue
I AM USING: HDMI connecting C-200 (November 2010 firmware) and my TV myiHomeServer running on my computer C-200 and computer is connected to gigabit switch with CAT6 cables Optical out from C-200 to my receiver Blu-Ray rips of various movies MT2S using AnyDVDHD/DVDFab
PROBLEM: On some of the movies the audio (main track) does not play, secondary tracks on other languages play fine, video plays fine. The same files that I had problems with March 2010 firmware (the audio stuttered then) and fixed with the May 2010 firmware are not playing the main audio track with the Aug 2010 and November 2010 firmware. I have messed around with the Audio/Video settings. I have changed audio output to HDMI / Coax instead of Optical and the problem persists. I am having this issue in the latest firmware as well as in the last firmware. For example: Star Trek (2009) the English audio does not play. However, when I change the audio track to, lets say Spanish, then it plays fine. The English audio track C-200 doesn't play, plays fine on my computer using TotalMediaTheater. I have lots of movies with exact same problem but then there are other movies that play fine. For example: Twilight plays absolutely fine without any audio problems. I have tried to play the movie directly by putting the file into the hard drive inside the C-200 and it still does not play the audio. Please help me solve this problem. I thank in advance for all your insights and suggestions. |

RE: m2ts Audio Issue
I ripped both Star Trek (2009) and Twilight BD using AnyDVD HD and both play on the C200 using full navigation.
If you want to use m2ts, you can try running it through tsMuxer. I've had the best success sticking to AnyDVD HD as well as MakeMKV. BD backup I use AnyDVD HD. Once I'm bored with it, I use MakeMKV on it to just keep the main feature (including HD Audio tracks). RE: m2ts Audio Issue
Code: DISC INFO:American Star Trek disk contains ONLY English audio in TrueHD format. As you're playing back via optical which can't process HD audio, you're experiencing the bug where the interleaved AC3 stream inside the TrueHD isn't being processed properly by the C-200. You should remux (see the WIKI) the file to include only the AC3 core (or use TSMUXER with the "downconvert HD audio" option ticked). You might have more luck playing back using BDMV structure, I'm not sure if the same bug exists there (I don't have a way to test as I'm using HDMI connection). RE: m2ts Audio Issue
I will try making MKV and also running the m2ts file through tsMuxeR.
Just for the record, the same Star Trek m2ts file plays perfectly with the English track when I downgrade to the May 2010 firmware, but English audio does not play with any other firmware. I have also tried playing the file via HDMI with no luck. "I ripped both Star Trek (2009) and Twilight BD using AnyDVD HD and both play on the C200 using full navigation." Pardon my inexperience but I do not understand what it means by playing using full navigation. How I play my files is - under sources I browse to the drive, then to the BDMV folder, then to the m2ts file. I did not know that there was any other way to play the movies. |

That's one of the core features you paid for in the C200 not available on the A200 or 100 series (or basically almost all media players). It CAN play back bluray backups JUST LIKE you were using the disc including all the special features and commentary. All AnyDVD HD does is remove the encryption on the retail Bluray discs so you can successfully copy them to the internal HD of the C200 and they will play EXACTLY like the disc. It's a hoot!
