A-200 freezes while streaming over network
Hi,
I have just recently got my PCH A-200 about a month ago. As of a couple of days ago the movies/tv shows (I have tried MKV and DIVX/XVID) seems to freeze at random time. At this point I would press the stop button and it would take about 5 min for it go back to the video list screen. After this happen i can no longer play any video at all even though I can browse the network just fine. I would need to shut down the PCH and turn it back on again. Currently I am playing over the network over shared drive using samba. I am using a 100mb router so not using a gigabyte router. I have tried searching this problem on the forum with no luck and I was hoping I could get some assistance with this as this is extremely frustrating! I apologize if there is already a thread on this, I have tried to search for it! One thing I have tried last night was running it from an external usb hdd and i got through an episode with no freezing. |

RE: A-200 freezes while streaming over network
So if content is being read from a network it would stutter but not from a USB device attached directly to the A200.
This tells me to ask you how are you accessing the content from the network; - SMB? - NFS? - myiHome? Also you can tell us the setup where the content is being read from (Windows? Mac? Unix? Nas?) More info the better. A200 connected to 32" Samsung UA32C5000 C200 connected to Denon 1610 AVR and 42" LG 42LH50YR Encore ENHGS-500 5 port Gigabit switch. |

It doesnt stutter at all - it would play normally and just freezes completely ![]() I am accessing by SMB to a Window 7 Ultimate computer. At first I thought it was network drop out but that doesn't seem to be it as I try browsing the network after that happen and is fine, I just cannot play any files. When I try to play it, it would just have that loading circle spinning icon. |

RE: A-200 freezes while streaming over network
This could be a network related issue. check your windows box for network errors:
netstat -e netatat -s See if the error counts change when the freeze happens. If you have errors make sure your network cables aren't near any strong EMI devices, such as fluorescent lights, AC motors, try to route your network cables at least a foot or two away from these types of devices. Quote:100mb router so not using a gigabyte router If you can I would use a switch instead of a router. A router processes packets and when there is a larger number of packets it can start dropping or re-ordering packets causing problems. |
