Suggestions for brmezera, mathiaslindqvist and others having basic problems....

First, forget about these templates. Get your PCH up and running showing movies the original way, .. ie text format only. Also if you have a network share, .... add it, .. then see if you can select it in the source screen, .. and then play a movie from that location,.... using a plain vanilla PCH box. Once you have gotten your movies up n running this way ... it shouldn't be too hard to now add the Movie Collector, and the Jukebox templates.

REMEMBER GRASSHOPPERS .... BABY STEPS first! Smile Smile
... and this thread concerns the use of the template files only, ... and not basic operation of the PCH.

hope this helps
Allen

RE USB Drive
Legion I have been able to get REV1 working on the internal drive of the PCH, so I can get the program to work with Movie Collector. I am struggling with the attached USB drive and also through SMB. When I sue the USB drive attached to the PCH it doesn't auto load the index.htm file and when i select it from the PCH I get a blank screen. When I try to get it work on an SMB drive, I get a white screen with a 404 error. Like I said before I am a newbie any simple direction on how to do these would be greatly appreciated as I cannot fit all my video collection on the internal drive of the PCH to run this great program.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give Smile

Saw your last post in the thread.

The thing is that i have no problem with getting an smb share to work under popcorn. have several shares that works to play files from.

Also, i dont have any problems with export from moviecollector. The problem is that the generated files isnt proper when setting in template files to use an smb share instead of default hard drive. That why i wonder how the settings should look like ...

If i use the standard template files from you (which has internal hdd eneabled by default) every html file is generated correclty. Like ... the play button links to the correct movie file, the cover is showing up right ...etc.

but when i type the smb info (thats why im asking, dont know if i type right information) the export dont generate the files properly ...it does generate ... but the play button links to the html file and the cover dont show up either ..links to xxx. (it strips the .jpg) .... chaninge back to template with internal hdd and everything goes fine with export .. understand me ???

So what im asking for is the right settings for smb ...

as you saw in my examples i used both computer name and ip adress ... and the share in windows is called BarnDVD so i used both [SMB] AMD64-X2:BarnDVD/ and [SMB] 192.168.1.136:BarnDVD/

Understand me now ? Smile

[SMB] AMD64-X2:BarnDVD/ and [SMB] 192.168.1.136:BarnDVD/

Hi Mathias,

You should use the same as defined on your popcorn.

If you set up smb://192.168.1.136/BarnDVD on your Popcorn, so use the same in the "utilities" config file ([SMB] 192.168.1.136:BarnDVD/)

Heya pmontanari,

sorry to bug ya... how exactly do i change the positioning of the Links on the details page? (The Play Movie links...)

I like it on the right side...and I like it listed vertically. I just want them to start at the top of the page instead of the middle. So that when i have multiple files like episodes of a tv show it fits on the screen.

Thanks for any help....and i really appreciate the work you and Legion put into this.

Hi Excal, ... Right now, I'm finishing up rev2a, and should have it ready in the next hour or so,... but after that , I'll be out of Town for 10days on Friday ... going to Vegas! Smile
So you'll have to play with the html yourself to try and position the play Movie tags where you want them.. when I get back, I can maybe do something for you, ... but right now, ... release 2a (SeenIt and Imdb ratings fields, .. plus 5 movie locations), .. then get ready for the trip.

take care
ALlen

Ahh thats cool...have a good trip man.

And its no biggie....

I can try and figure it out... I don't mind doing some problem solving...I don't really know the coding for any of this stuff, but i've been teaching myself as we go.

I was just hoping you or P knew the anwser off the top of your head. Big Grin

I got a couple other smaller goals....(adding photo slide shows)...and maybe helping Mcmilly emulate a sorta Coverflow....but those are sorta long shot wishes... for all intensive purposes...this template is near perfect atm Smile

OK guys, .. here ya go, .. revision 2a is up!

http://www.treasure-cove.net/PCHrev2a.zip

Just overwrite all files when unzipping.
http://www.treasure-cove.net/PCHrev2.htm

Changes include addition for the "Seen It" field and "Imdb Rating" field in the details template. Also updated is allowance for up to 5 locations for movie storage. Edit the "exportdetails_item_pcha100.xsl" file for turning on the SeenIt and ImdbRatings fields. and the "exportdetails_pcha100_utilities.xsl" file for setting your movie locations.

And here's a photo of what the SeenIt and Imdb Ratings look like:

Also, when you make your entries for your different movie locations.... say, if my movies were at G:\Video\xxx.avi , then my entry for the myfilestore variable would be G:/Video/ (forward slashes instead of backslashes) By using this, you'll be able to view your movies from both your PC (in Movie Collector) AND from your PCH.

take care, .. enjoy!!

I am using a NAS, trying to set up the correct path in the utilities files.
Here is my path <xsl:variable name="myfilestore1">file:///opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/[SMB] HPMEDIAVAULT:ISO/video</xsl:variable>

My ISO files are in the video folder, and the movies are all in subfolders.
Any help would be greatly appreciated Wink

Well I finally got the index.htm file to load on my USB drive attached to the PCH. Now I have and issue where the "Play Movie" is not a link. I cannot select it to play the movie when using the PCH-100. When I am in Movie Collector, I can choose the Aqua template and there is a link and it will play the movie when i have everything hooked up on the computer. When I select the PCH-100 template in Movie Collector the "Play Movie" is not linked, so it cannot be selected to play the movie. Does anybody have any ideas on what is going on with my set up?
