this damn avi file does not play, the same content in a mkv container is OK - why ?

Hi there,
something really strange happened to me this night.
I usually encode my home videos with Avidemux with h264 video and mp3 audio and so far everything was OK (no more than 2 consecutive b frames etc.. I have the working parameters saved in a profile and I have used the same profile)
So.. this Avi file ( the download link is below) just starts on my c-200 for an instant and closes immediately. On a PC - runs fine.
If I encode with exactly the same parameters, and only change the container to mkv - then the file plays OK on c-200.
What's happening here ?
The c200 firmware is updated - latest (dec 8th)

While you have explained the issue well and even included link to a sample, it is good practice to include a mediainfo report in posts concerning troublesome media playback. Please download mediainfo.sf.net (free/open) or similar tool, make the detailed report of an AVI and one MKV and post here.

Movi play about a second and than returns to menu
sometimes with distoret sound somtimes wiht no sound...

comfirmad on c-200 AS UNPLAYABLE.

@TeMpL: Please start your own thread describing your issues, it does not appear you have the same problem. May I suggest you take the similar approach as the OP - but also include a mediainfo report.

I havent looked at the files yet but you really need to switch to mkv lol h264 inside avi just gives me the willys lol
