I have been thinking the same myself, but I really want to wait for the untethered jailbreak and unlock so I don't lose the ability to unlock my old 3GS should I choose to do so. I might go ahead and pull the trigger and put 4.2.1 on my iPad since I don't need to worry about unlocking.

RE: Airplay server for C200
sorry I deleted the file, but I use Xilisoft Video Converter To encode my divx, mkv to iPhone format 4 is mpeg4 or h264.

Anyway, even on youtube, I did not have the option and not even on Air home video.

RE: Airplay server for C200
Just a minor detail: I noticed the stock stop script for the Bonjour service on the NMT is this:
Code:
echo -n "Stop mDNSrespd   : "
killall -SIGINT mDNSrespd-mips 1>/dev/null 2>/dev/null

if [ "$?" = "0" ]; then
        echo "[  OK  ]";
else
        echo "[FAILED]";
fi

RE: Airplay server for C200
I've updated the version on CSI (to r7).

Photo playback should now switch from browser photo mode and back automatically.
Support for Airplay from iTunes has been added. This has required a proxy to sit between iTunes and popcorn and massage the messages.
Improved memory usage when not in use (should be pretty negligable now).

The proxy could be used for other purposes. It listens on port 7000. I've added useragent spoofing, so for example you could play an Apple trailer with:

http://<popcorn ip>:8008/playback?arg0=start_vod&arg1=AirPlayVideo&arg2=http://127.0.0.1:7000/proxy%3Furl=http://trailers.apple.com/movies/wb/redridinghood/redridinghood-tlr1_h480p.mov%26useragent=Quicktime&arg3=show

(normally Apple's site rejects the useragent that popcorn provides).

Have fun.

RE: Airplay server for C200
Nice, thanks for the update. So with the use of that proxy, one could probably create a new Apple trailer project?

Media Player: Popcorn Hour C-200 (with Samsung SpinPoint HM500JI, Lite-On iHOS104-37 and Alpha WMP-ND02 WLAN-Module)
TV: Grundig Vivance 32 LXW 82-6710 REF
Receiver: Topfield 5000 PVRt (with 160 GB HD)
Sound: LG FB162-DOU
NAS: Netgear ReadyNAS NVX RNDX400E

RE: Airplay server for C200
Yes, I believe streaming links to Apple trailers worked long ago, and were available to some YAMJ skins. This could be used to resurrect that.

The more interesting use of the proxy is A100/A110 doesn't talk nicely to Airplay.
Using the proxy to replace http HEAD messages with GET messages means airplay is running on my A110....
(still a fair bit of work to support pause/resume/seeking/photos which is all a bit different on A110, but it is promising)

RE: Airplay server for C200
Hi,
this looks like a great addition.

I am looking at a way to stream from a device at home (NAS preferably but c-200 would be next best choice). Will this act as an airplay server allowing me to use iphone control app to stream to an airport express via airplay?

Other than running a nettop or a crappy old WHS with itunes on all of the time I'm not sure how to achieve this Smile.

Sorry to ask probably a dumb question, but does the sound in the video get played as well? I tried this tonight and the video works flawlessly, just without sound Sad

Thanks

Please supply a mediainfo report of the video file you attempted to play so we can see what kind of audio it has.

RE: Airplay server for C200
Hello everyone
Got the Airplay setup. When it first starts up it works perfectly but when I next change the song or video, the NMT jus does nothing and then reboots.
Does anyone else have this issue too?

Many thanks

Can you put the original file on the NMT and see if it plays?
The "MS Stereo" may be a problem.

I've seen occasional reboots but it's quite rare for me.
Normally it is syb_framework that dies and restarts, with the airplayer-nmt still running. Is it repeatable? Is it always the second file that does it? Is airplayer-nmt still running?

Having trouble getting iTunes 10.1 to stream using rc7. The NMT option show up in the airplay menu, but selecting it does nothing and it stays on whatever device was previously selected. Anybody else getting this?

Try r8. There was a bug in r7.

I wonder if iOS 4.3 has added addition checks that the device is really an Apple TV. I'll see if I can find any info (I don't have 4.3 installed yet).
If you can get a log it may be helpful. "run airplay-nmt -v > logfile" and try to connect. Send me the log.
