What are the step we should take to install newer alpha versions

I am running r1764 adn want to install r1780. Can i keep me DB directory or do i need to re-scrape my entire collection.

if you already have version > r1700 then just upgrade inplace. r1783 is the latest.

Just to be Clear, to keep my scans, I just install new 1783 over 1780, using CSI's Install from File, without uninstalling first.

Edit:
Have found the temporary solution. Installing the Telnet daemon (including Busybox) via CSI indeed solves the sort problem. No errors anymore, index.db and plot.db are created succesfully and movies appear on first screen now.

what are the steps when you go from the current featured CSI version to the CSI alpha?

I removed the previous version via CSI and installed the alpha (without a reboot). I scanned the folders and seems to be getting results in de logging (picking up Lewis S04 etc), but my startscreen is empty.

All files are on the PCH A-110 internal harddisk.
