I have a PCH A-110 with the latest firmware (december 2010) and I stream the audio over my network from a Windows 2008 share. The browsing works fine but sometimes when you select a song by pressing play or enter the screen flickers for a few seconds and you see the list again without playing the song. After switching off/on the PCH the same file will play.

Another issue is when you selected a file to play with enter (to play the whole album) it will randomly stop playing after a few songs (sometimes the second or third) and returns to the browsing screen.

Same problem here. I play music from my internal HDD. Mostly flac files and some MP3. Some files won't play at all. Sometimes a few songs in a row will play and then it stops playing, returning to the file list. Sometimes the music keeps on playing (would be nice feature while browsing) for a short time and then it stops. After this nothing will play, until rebooting the device.

At the moment i am sending files to Syabas for them to check.

I have same problem here....started from yesterday. I don't know if it is related with the new firmware because before yesterday it seemed working fine... Huh

My first Syabas contact was able to reproduce the problem. My sample files have then been sent to a technical engineer, who was not able to reproduce the problem. Sad

They are still trying to reproduce.
I was able to reproduce the problem over and over again, so maybe there is something conflicting in settings of the popcorn?

I'm thinking about shooting down screensaver, maybe this is the problem. I'll tell you if this resolves.

EDIT: It seems to work with screensaver turned off. I'm at 6th song of an album continue playing. Try it yourself to confirm.

Yeah I can confirm it works when the screensaver is turned off. thank you Atreyu for finding that out. But I still want to have screensaver on while playing music as I don't want to get burn-in on my plasma tv.

Just a short note to confirm that I have the same problem after updating the firmware. Will try switching off the screensaver tonight.

Update :- Switched off screen saver last night and can now play a full album without PCH hanging.

Syabas is aware of the screensaver issue thanks to the people on this forum. They are trying to fix it.

I have a plasma, and I wouldn't like to disable the screensaver... Dodgy

Just to let you know: same "music stop playing" problem since december firmware.
Same "fix": disable the screensaver... but that's not really what I call a fix indeed.
