Do you think this is superior to the popcorn player: http://www.egreathd.com ?
I see that it can hold internal SATA, but any other features that makes it superior to the popcorn?

The remote control looks the same as PCH.

AZBox Premium ATSC/QAM/DVB-S2 Networked Receiver & HD Recorder
Infrant ReadyNAS NV
Sony KDL40XBR9 1920 x 1080 LCD HD Display

Look good. Looks like it has a fan and it has an on off button, and optical out.

I like the mac mini form factor. The fact that it has USB slave is sweet.

Its the same platform running NMT firmware.

The only differences are hardware related. Pick the hardware that suits your setup and pocket the best. The PCH is cheaper but the Egreat has USB slave if you lose NMT apps. There are other NMT devices such as the HDX900 and Istar which along with the PCH and eGreat give enough hardware options to suit most users.

A400: SSD+SD Card(Apps), HDMI A300: USB(Apps), HDMI C200: USB(Apps), BD SH-B083L(SB01), HDMI
CAT6 Wired Network: TV TX-P42G20, HP ProCurve 1400-8G, Netgear GS-608/605, Synology CS407

Like Chris said - they use the same Sigma chipset and the same Syabas developed platform/middleware (firmware and NMT applications (if used)) - only differences are in design and hardware connections (optical vs. coaxial or sata vs. ide etc) of the boxes.

Apart from these hardware connection related differences they all support the same things, and have the same interface etc. since all use the same chipset (Sigma) and softwareplatform (Syabas).

the only other thing i can think of is quality of design and assembly. if one board has better network or HDMI protection than another for example, or uses better assembly techniques/more reliable suppliers, there could be potential for further product differentiation. quality information will be hard to come by though. I know some people with electronics design expertise have complained about a few of the PH board design aspects.
