RE: [Index.htm] Popdex
Any chance you can put an option to have the original border around the image, it kind of looks like fade in fade out effect. In the original files the image was located in Icons/720p.

RE: [Index.htm] Popdex
This looks like a great index, but I need to make it work on SD. Can anyone give me any pointers about what i would need to tweak in the HTML and or images in order to make it work properly on SD?

Sometime ago the author said will develop SD version... and even started it. But then stopped for some reason. |

RE: [Index.htm] Popdex
I saw your posts around the forum, before you get into too much conversion it's a lesser known fact that if you use svideo or composite outputs and set the video to 720p, the pch will scale the output to SD sizes on those outputs. I'm not sure if this creates a letterbox sitation, etc but I recommend trying it out and then everything you need HD for, works.

RE: [Index.htm] Popdex
yes I tried the auto 720p conversion but the video quality sucks that way both for reading fonts as well as for the actual video playback, partly because right now I am able to use the component video outs instead of having to use composite....plus I'm not sure about the quality of the conversion being done in that case.
If I have to choose between skins with crappy video or no skins and good video I will pick no skins. But if I can make some skins and indexes work in SD mode then I'll be much happier. I managed to get the NMJ_index to work, but its kind of "bla". I will change the bg image so its not bright green and it will be a little better, but not as good as the other wonderful indexes I've seen. I've tried futzing around with Calm, Alaska, Aeon, popdex and some other indexes with very mixed results. Everything is coded for HD and always there is some problem I can't figure out, I'm no expert on web programming. I got TAMJ working with one of the default SD skins; is fine, though not great. I wish there was SD Aeon, but I know that is asking too much. The one called gd something other SD is actually pretty ok except for the big orange YAMJ logo on the home page of it. Considering its SD, I don't expect that much, though I wish I could have the nicer well thought out skins like I see on Aeon and some others, even if SD only and crippled down in some way. The styling is just awesome on some of those. I rather like Alaska too. But if I can just get a decent index working, I can live with TAMJ default SD skin for the time being, its really not half bad and it works. Just need a better index now. After that I have to figure out what Music Jukebox will work with SD and how to watch my photos, maybe a jukebox or whatever that is compatible with SD. This is sure a lot more work to setup then Boxee, but at least the video output is splendid. |

RE: [Index.htm] Popdex
Is there a way to change the "Popcorn hour loading" logo?
I just updated my hdx-1000 with the last popcorn hour firmware and I would like to replace the "loading logo" with a hdx or something else. |

RE: [Index.htm] Popdex
I'm hoping to have some time today to mess with this. In the meantime, are the backdrop images static? For example, Aeon on XBMC uses a kind of slideshow. I'm assuming that's not possible with an index.htm or least really difficult as I haven't seen anyone make mention of it but was just curious.

RE: [Index.htm] Popdex
Hi I'm really interested with the work here... i think it is possible to have random backdrops per menu, I think an array can do the trick for but I do have a limited knowledge on scripting
Do you think this can be feasible? thanks

RE: [Index.htm] Popdex
Hello, I have been using Popdex .5 for the last 1.5 years and recently upgraded to 1.3 (lots of changes to the program).
At one time I came across a thread which described how to add a (re-direct? if thats what it is called) to the html which would auto load one of the choices, say for instance the video selection, after 5 seconds or so. So in other words once Popdex boots up if a selection isnt pressed in 5 seconds it will auto load the video selection (or what ever selection you want it to always auto load). I have not been able to figure out how to add this feature to 1.3 and was hoping someone would be able to steer me in the right direction. As always, Thank You!!! James |
