Well, I am. I got my popcorn because they played media and almost all of them. I have an xbox, it did not satisfy my needs with respect to playback.

Yeah, but that brings me back to it all. Why should I buy a new product from Signa or whatever when they don't even resolves the issues they have with there current products? the forum is full of issues and feature requests that seems to be ignored.

Its the same reason people buy and Iphone gen1-5 and any other product to have the latest and greatest. But to say support is dropped is a big thing. The a100 is now 3+years old and still gets firmware updates. So its not like they will drop support for the 200 series.

That "reason" is stupid. I don't get things because I want the latest. I get them to fill a need.

I never said they have dropped there support. I said, not much is happening.

Why the reason is stupid its the truth in the world of electronics. New cpu/gpu come out every day, bigger and better tv's/phones and people buy them up.

thnx, i like yamj better.

I think the Oversight recommendation was with refernce to the "and to one day let it run all by it self " comment as oversight is fully automated.

BUT I can see this discussion has moved on from what the PCH can do to what it can't do.

That being said I am not for one second saying that you views are not valid I think the PCH is definately a machine which makes you decide was is most important to you and gives you that but don't ask for too many things because soon enough you having to compromise left right and centre.... Oversight is an example of that - fully automated jukebox? Check!... Beautiful UI?.. hmmmm (sorry Lordy! ;o) )

Fully agree with You Smile This is marketing which push the manufacturers make new products in short time. All that bugs and misconfigurations comes from there.

P.S. Mr.Blackkatt - You are real bla-bla man Smile ( nothing personal )

Ah okay, well that's not the reason I don't set it to run automatic. If i wanted that it would be the easiest thing in the world. Specially sense I use NMT Server as well. The reason, it's not set to auto. Is because the daily changes I do.
As most of my media is downloaded automatic I need to fix first so that it gets renamed correctly and placed in the right folder I have that done for most part.

I don't like empty covers of movies with no info, witch can be the case if the movie, tv series or whatever is not found or has the wrong name hehe that's why its not on auto Big Grin

Was your need to playback all your media, or a spiffy UI. The current popcorns by themselves in my opinion are never going to provide an enjoyable embedded UI that everyone will be happy with. Finding a 3rd party UI solution will get you closer to having both playback and UI. But in general the popcorns were designed with playback as the primary feature. The UI was never a feature, till this community made it one. We can all thank the jukebox developers for creating the problem. Smile

Probably not the place to argue to pros and cons of Oversight but I will say I download all my media daily using Feedtime which intergrates with NZBget - then it all get unpacked and renamed and moved to TV or Movie folder using Lordy's Unpak script then Oversight's scans find all the info and displays in a UI that I'm happy with (but as I mentioned in past post might not be up to others standards) - So for me the whole process from d/l to watching is seemless and without any issues BUT and it's a big BUT you can't have it all which is the root of your original post... but is anything perfect?
I think you'd need a closed system like Apple's to even attempt this but that would no doubt bring other issues there.... actually apple TV has proved this Tongue

Just my thoughts Undecided

Well, yes and no. Who does not want it all? but that's not the "root" of my post.

I use SABnzbd+ to download most of my Media. SABnzbd+ does some renaming and creates, unpacks and places in the correct folders. Then I've made some scripts that moves the nfo files and delete other files I don't want. Finally it appends the folder name to file names (for movies) so that YAMJ can find my shit Big Grin

I've tried OverSight, it's to .... and slow. YAMJ is okay, takes about 17min for a full "download" that is, about 300 xml files. Poster, Fanart, Videoimage all that. And an update takes second. Not sure how long it takes with OverSight.
