No and yes. It will play flv with H264 inside. However not many flv files use that video codec.

Hi, I don't quite get it. Does C-200 (or any other Popcorn Hour device) play video files with .flv-extension (i.e. with Flash Video container format) if video and audio is encoded with a supported codec?
I can imagine why the device cannot play container formats with video/audio encodec with an unknown or unsupported codec but the opposite is just weird as video container merely packs audio and video streams together, and adding support to new video containers is much easier task to do than programming support for new audio/video decoders. Well, maybe flv-support is some Adobe copyright/license issue... Anyway, I think that missing flv-support should be stated more clearly in the Wiki. -lollercoaster |
