C-200 and youtube: not playing embedded video

In next Youtube build we will

1. add the embedded player filter for related video, we missed that in 1.6.1
2. let Youtube player display the error message which is more accurate instead of interpret from their API.
3. add video quality info in Info bar.

Alright, so as I understand it, an error message explaining that the content is not allowed to be played from the viewer's country is not possible. Not so well done by Google, but I see there's nothing you can do about it. However, it's good to keep this in mind for the case when other users complain that they still can't play certain videos.

As for the announced changes: Very nice, looking forward to it. Thanks for keeping up the work on this app!

Please help to try out Youtube 1.6.3 that we just published and let us know whether error message displayed correctly or not at your side. Thanks.

Works great, however, playing videos that are available in 1080p, the player seems to pick 720p anyway, even though it's set to 1080p in the settings.

is the video avaible in 1080p???? because you can only get 1080p if the user uploaded a 1080p video

Yes certainly, I even tried searching for 1080p videos and got a bunch, and all of them play in 720p.

I've tried it and it works as it should now. All the videos that didn't play yesterday now show messages like the following ones (I've taken photos directly from the tv):





The vast majority of music videos bring up messages like these. The GEMA totally sucks. This really makes me rage...

I also noticed that a lot of videos have ads now. It would be nice if you could look into a solution to trigger the button which closes them. I know you said that Google doesn't support it, but maybe you can still find a way to do it somehow? Anyway, thanks for your efforts!

I can confirm that 1080p videos are shown as 720p in the info bar though. To me, it looks like it is just displayed as 720p while the video actually has 1080p. But I may be wrong of course...

Anyone else noticing an increase in the time it takes to exit the app? When going from the app "my apps" after playing some videos it can take a good minute or so to exit Youtube.

I'm getting the unit crashing when using the Exit button as opposed to simply pressing 'eject' and exiting Flash al together.

We found out suggestedQuality in below API doesn't seem to take effect now

player.loadVideoById(videoId:String, startSeconds:Number, suggestedQuality:String):Void)

Will try to check any other way to resolve this next week.

The new Version of the YouTube-App really works great now. All videos I couldn't play last week plays really well now. Thank you very much for the quick fix of that problem.

I read the plans for the next version:

Maybe its possible to add another thing: It would be great if you could sign in with your own YouTube-Account (User / Pass), then you would see all the new vidoes of your subscribers, like on Pc when you start the YouTube Page and sign in to your account. That would be great.
