Multiple FTP-user accounts
I'd like to have multiple FTP accounts on my PCH a-110, with the ability to set different rights and what folders the accounts should have access to.
Shouldn't be impossible, right? If there's a way I can edit this from telnet, just point the way.

RE: Multiple FTP-user accounts
There are some hints on how to do this here:
http://www.networkedmediatank.com/wiki/i...nal_Drives But not explicitly on how to add more users. Some man page should help: http://linux.die.net/man/8/pure-pw (You do this at your own risk, of course. If something fails you can probably do a 'Typical' NMT Apps-reinstall, though.) Another approach is to install another ftpd, like LundFTPd (available via CSI for 100-series too I think). Then you can have full control, more options and even change the settings remotely via FTP, by logging in with admin account. Audio, video, disco - I hear, I see, I learn. Wiki. Wiki? Wiki! |

This one worked nicely for me, got 3 ftp accounts with access to different folders surviving reboots too. Be sure to check the next few posts, the howto survive a reboot is a little further down. |

RE: Multiple FTP-user accounts
Hi guys,
I checked out all forum contribution about this. But first thing I run into is that /mnt/syb8634/ directory is not available on my nmt. I have a A210 and are connected via telnet (putty) with the device. Hope you can help me out what I'm doing wrong. I spend lot's of hours allready. Thanks! GJ |

RE: Multiple FTP-user accounts
@gjspier you are looking in the wrong section of the forum. This thread is in the 100-section, the NMT you have is a 200-series.
But basically I think - IIRC - that the procedure is the same, but the PATH is different. If you are inside with telnet you can use the `find' command to look for the "pure-pw" file/binary. Audio, video, disco - I hear, I see, I learn. Wiki. Wiki? Wiki! |
