c200 died, blinking (white/red) power button
Tonight my C200 died, when I flick it on I only see the power button blinking between red and white.

What can I do? Has it really completely died?
Removing internal HDD didn't do a think either Sad

RE: c200 died, blinking (white/red) power button
From what I read that seems to indicate a PSU failure. But i'm not 100% possitive about that. Halfe or Chris would be better suited to answer you.

If it is a psu, the good news is they just posted them on the website for sale today. And they're pretty reasonably priced too.

Thanks for your tip. A common issue then 'cause they provide a replacement part online? Hmm. Perhaps I need to think abou this again.

Take the lid off and listen when you turn it on, do you hear a clicking and are there LEDs on the motherboard that are flashing red/green aswell.

If you are an electronic geek you can find the replacement capacitors for little money and replace them. Otherwise its $62 including shipping to the UK:-

If you are out of warranty replacements parts are cheap enough. A motherboard is $50, a PSU £27 there's no a lot else that can go wrong. It's not a case of hard luck you have to buy a new unit.

RE: c200 died, blinking (white/red) power button
A standard computer ATX PSU will work to test the problem. It won't fit of course but if the problem goes away then you know the issue. Any computer ATX PSU should work because they all have better power output then the requirements of the PCH.

Interesting, I hadn't even considered the mobo going bad.

So the clicking and flashing mobo lights will tell him whether its the mobo or the psu?

RE: c200 died, blinking (white/red) power button
Yes, it happened to me last week.
First indications were media were freezing up during playback for up to 30 secs with no response from the remote.
Although pressing PowerOff on remote would eventually show the unit turn off (standby).
Another problem was that it was re-booting over and over again and a hard reboot (unplugged) was not working.

I get a clicking noice and green/red flashing LEDs next to the reset button on the mobo. Does this mean my psi is dead? I hope it's the psu.

Nope its the psu. the clicking noise is the pcu and the green and red leds are because the pch is trying to start one led controls the power control Modula the other is the actual board led.
