The pch only supports 1080p video playback, everything else on your screen is max 720p. I'm kind of treading new waters alone with this flash project so part of this is just gathering information so I can research if it can be fixed.

At this time look at this setup like this:
- YAMJ is the scanner and prepares the indexes.
- Eversion takes the yamj output to do it's thing.
- The PCH decodes and plays your video (even if we have a different interface in front of it).

I just thought of something. How does the blur compare to the main menu artwork? Would you say this problem is just fanart? This might actually be how yamj is preparing the fanart.

The main menu art is MUCH blurrier for me than if I view the actual images on my computer. If I use my own custom images and replace Movies.jpg, New-movies.jpg, etc they also blur. Definitely not just fanart. If anything the pictures on the main menu are blurring more than fanart.

Probably not but if someone wants to take on the challenge to figure it out, they are welcomed too.

This might be related to the setting for valid versions of YAMJ that you set in myiHome.
I haven't used it for a while, but I believe we used to have to say "2.1BETA" etc, but now the new YAMJ versions no longer
say BETA but rather "2.4 SNAPSHOT" -- so perhaps Syabas needs to change myiHometo accept "SNAPSHOT" as well as "BETA".

Your never going to get a perfect match between computer and pch. Some quality will be lost in this area (video playback is different story). Thanks for the info it will help in researching this problem.

I have tested my fanart against what NMJ shows and I cannot see any difference
Image quality was never brought up as a problem in alpha testing

the maximum resolution an image will display on a pch is 1280x720
images will always look better on a pc due to higher resolutions and smaller pixels
you can't compare apples with bananas

also you need to be mindful of the quality that yamjs scrapers download some cover images on imdb are
downright terrible

No.
It builds correctly the database and the index.html , but when I lunch it from C200 I receive black screen and a sort of reset.(C200 back to start page).

Can you pm me the index.html it makes for this AND the a working html skin. that black screen leads me to believe it may work but the index.html is wrong for myihome. That is what the pch does when you link to a flash ui but the file doesn't exist

Then you TV is set to 0-255. You should change it on your Tv to 16-255 as well.

Believe me, you are wrong. I thought the same as you for a long time, until the ISF calibrator showed me on my Tv. Both Popcorn and Tv should be set to 16-255 (same goes for consoles).

Sounds like the same problem as when my custom index file directly called the eversion index file instead of eversion.phf

This is definitely not the issue.

I can go back to my old skin and all my images are crisp and clear, night and day difference on this skin. All my images are manually selected using Yanfoe, 1000x1500 poster and 1280x720 fanart images. The skin is definitely blurring images. I'm well aware there will be a quality lost due to stretching 1280x720 across 1920x1080, but this is definitely not what is causing this blurring. It's like someone put a filter over all the images, and it's not just fanart - the included images used when switching between different catergories are also dramatically blurred. There is difference between resizing quality loss and what I am seeing.

I think somewhere there is something in front of the images, when I scroll through TV shows I notice the fanart will twitch and distort, like something is in front of it. Someone else posted it, and he confirmed that it was happening. This might be the cause of the blurring too.

I have color gamout set to "Standard" there are only 2 options, Standard and Wide. I have HDMI to "full" on my TV, since the ISF calibrator that did my TV said setting HDMI to full is an "absolute must". My TV is calibrated for "Full", and setting it to "Limited" results in off-calibration. There is a noticable quality loss when turning it off.

I've set RGB to "Limited" and the popcorn hour to 16-235, I will leave it there for a little while to see if I adjust.

If anyone ends up doing this, make sure you compare library size as I know we do slow down the larger your library is. However as a large library user I've always tried to keep my personal setup no slower than an html skin so the smaller your library the faster we should go.

Although, the way this works, library size shouldn't matter so this is in part how yamj saves to the Jukebox thats adding uneeded slowdowns.

Hello. Very good work !

Just try it, but when I launch the skin, it displays on my tv with a bad resolution (only half on the screen). When I select a movie from the skin, the movie is displaying fine.

Is it a skin setting problem ?
