I am hoping they are still considering this option. I would love cd+g playback. considering standalone karaoke that incorporates hard drives are like $700+, this would be a much cheaper alternative.
It would be nice to alo ba able to point to a picture folder and have it display random pictures in the background of the lyrics display. Many karaoke software does this. |

This would be a wonderful feature, would love to see this! Like already mentioned, when compared to commercially available hard disk based karaoke machines a Popcorn Hour sporting this feature would be an absolute steal!
In the mean time, there are conversion tools out there which will convert CDGs to .avi files which will obviously playback on the PCH. I'm probably gonna try and experiment with some of these myself. Power Karaoke's video converter looks pretty good but costs $39, http://www.powerkaraoke.com/src/prod_cdg...verter.php VLC will happily play MP3-G files while showing the on screen graphics. Its cumbersome to have to plug in a laptop to your home cinema (I bought my A-110 so I wouldn't have to anymore) but its a solution. |

I've paid for Power Karaoke Converter now. It converts MP3 and CDG files to avi with no noticeable loss in audio quality (as far as I could tell through my amp). The video shows some nasty compression but its only text anyways and is completely readable. File size was very marginally larger but not much. It allows you to batch up conversion, I set over a 1000 on the go before I left for work.
Not an ideal solution but until CDG is supported via firmware it'll have to do

After removing Youtube from PCH You have to compensate with adding new futures - like kar. files, guys!
