If you purchased a home nas 3 years ago you'd get about the same numbers.. you just happen to have a modern computer with a modern ip stack and its the only reason why you think 200mbps isn't gig.. you should have owned a computer back a few years ago, you'd be on our side of the discussion. I'm still waiting for gigabit lan also, like it states on the box. That never materialized, and I've been waiting for over a year. Yes, I know, it will never have gigabit speeds. And that being the case, it is just false advertising. very plain and simple. In fact, several features were not even ready when the unit first shipped. I was one of the first in line. No one said my unit would be crippled. No one said that I would have to wait for all the stated features to be complete, or that it would ship with beta software. No major company would be able to get away with that in the US, and for good reason. So, quit making excuses for the absence of gigabit speeds. Yes, you can run gigabit ethernet, but the speeds will be no better than 10/100, and in my case, they are much worse. BTW, my definition of "much worse" is stuttering vs. not stuttering, i.e. minimal throughput for blu ray class bit rates. One more thing, I didn't purchase this device so I could reminisce about how bad bit rates were back in the old days. |

25fps UK HD TV based MKV files, still stutter just like every firmware since May 2010.
![]() Both recent (yesterday) and old 720p 25fps MKV files appear to play with odd frames out of order, producing stutter. Have reported this with every firmware since May 2010. Just put back May 2010 firmware and all back to smooth 720p 25fps playback.

If your not seeing over 100mbps speeds there might be a hardware problem which nobody in this forum can help you fix. I recommend quickly contacting support before your warranty expires. We aren't giving excuses, we have working hardware.. We call support when it doesn't work right and we see 200+mbps speeds. |

ok Please release a second firmware 1 with NMJ 1 With out .
Firstly i did not pay for NMJ i do not want it, it was not part of the features advertised when sold . Clearly there are speed issues, crap look ups and yes umc and yamj pick up the same movie correctly , this crap ui you have introduced with more bugs than the play already had . I have read a lot of post that new stuff will not be added only advertised features will be fixed . i see you added a new feature the NMJ with out fixing other bugs bad move. but lets re invent the wheel (not), should have payed for the already up and running movie walls with better user friendly interfaces and option, I did not pay for this feature and i do not want it . Please added a new firmware without NMJ it has introduced more problems than it fixed and will always have problems. yes it works with large video but does take like 2 days will it did for my 20 tb collection, but its hit to miss ratio is hight like 60-40 with 40% incorrect i find this funny as Yamj and umc pick it up as 90-10 10% incorrect , no i do not use nfo's or grouping , just a logical file structure with good naming convention ( that is all that should be required.) i currently use Yamj, but UMC is my Preferred jukebox . i am not interested in your attempt to add a jukebox just want the feature i payed for to work not have new problems from new things being added.. In regards to network issues a lot complain about transfer speeds and streaming speeds sorry never had streaming issues and i stream a lot of formats ( homemade and downloaded) the question i have is to all that are having network speed issues what kind of speed do you see from the sever to your pc ? big thank you to the dedicated group of People that dedicate their free time to making the apps and jukeboxes not supplied buy popcorn hour ( unpaid work). look the play works well great device i own 2x a210 1x A200 1x c-200 and the original a100 ( first release batch) i have no issues streaming only issue is NMJ its plain and simply bad and will be for some time give it 6 months and it may be up to par of the 3rd parity jukeboxes in 2010 not 2011 lot of catching up to do on that part of it ( redesign it with a better gui for a flash based player it is a poor job done to date re do the skin you use sorry that is bad and looks like a SD skin upscale to 720 HAHA) . so again release One firmware with NMJ and one without NMJ and all will be happy . Sorry popcorn hour the 3rd parity jukebox is better and will always be better that what you will ever release unless you go buy it from the 3rd parity developers . sorry rant over.NMJ just rubs me the wrong way and always will. off to do some code cutting

As far as working hardware goes, I have no issues, so, yes, the hardware is fine. Just don't claim to have gigabit ethernet

good luck on your mission. Hopefully one day the embedded hardware will reach your expectations on what you think networking is.

It is reported on Mantis to Syabas, its a bug number 0000416 for reference. They could do with some more samples Ian apparently. PM me with some <100Mb samples if you have any. If you switch to 1080i you may find things don't stutter, may be preferable to losing features through downgrading the firmware. Yes I've been updating that Mantis report as well.
The difficulty IMHO using samples is that it's not predictable. The drops in video occur isn't consistent across a sample so you really have to watch for it intently and if you can get through a single program without incident will I consider it solved. Nope. It can't. Hardware isn't capable of it.

Why the ANGER if everythng works... just set the NO scan option at your top level and you will have the NO NMJ option. I'm not a fan of NMJ either and it didn't deliver what I wanted (I misunderstood what it was attempting for music), and I just can't see the point in yamj eye candy.. so I dont use it. Seeemples
[ps Why would I want to browse a video wall of 20Tb of movies just to pick one???] I should mention my c-200 is used more for audio; it's my primary source these days. I'm much more likely to relisten to music than watch a film twice... always get the feeling you know what'll happen next. De Ja Vu and all that ![]() Some of us would like better network support .. not for streaming but for getting the information onto it quicker. And to allow me to do more than one thing at a time. For long enough mine would totally lock up if I dared tansfer large files AND have the audacity to browse at the same time. I dont even risk it now. As for this firmware, another step in the right direction: Cue file in flac is present and working so far. Gapless mp3 is looking good on the few albums I've tried. Probably best to hear from some classical fans (I'm not one in particular) as they're probably more likely to listen to a long contiguous file, with 'tracks'. Not a big issue for many BUT important on the road to mass market...... Just need a proper two-way remote control (fully integrated with the firmware) now. Roll on the next phase of NMJ development.... should truly be a consumer device one year soon. (03-13-2011 03:16 AM)buba013 Wrote: ok Please release a second firmware 1 with NMJ 1 With out . |

By the way, nice surprise to have a setting I've never seen and never heard of before..... Anyway, I'm back in business with the latest firmware. |
