Feature request: Guestbook

Hi!

I mentioned this within another feature request but I figured it could use a thread of it own.

I would suggest a "simple" guest book where you can post comments on movies.
I suggest that every post should start with the UserID (name/alias) of the one posting (entered manually at each post), eighter a IMDB-movie-ID to wich the comment is tied or an OPEN comment on the board. Followed by the comment it self.

What we type:
Example #1: GordonFreeman: tt0264508: Adore the Lovecraft story of Dagon.

What we see:
Example #1: GordonFreeman: Dagon (2001): Adore the Lovecraft story of Dagon.

What we type:
Example #2: GordonFreeman: : Any good advice of what snack to eat?

What we see:
Example #2: GordonFreeman: Any good advice of what snack to eat?


This would make your Oversight not only your moviewall but a small community for your movie loving friends to share ideas and opinions. In combination with my suggestion of turning Oversight into a file sharing application this could ROCK!

This could be build using the default Linux commands in busybox if I'm not mistaken. Not sure how this is implemented through HTML though.

There could be a icon for the Guestbook added to the row where "Mark", "Lock" and "Delete" is located. Clicking this could open up a screen with the guestbooks entries and a box where to write a new entry and a "submit entry"-button. There could also be two buttons for "earlier posts" and "older posts".

Let me know if this feels completely out of place for the existing Oversight or if you feel this could make an addition to the current Oversight.

I think it is hard to make a TV based interfaced this interactive, as most people would have to time with their remote..

This interactivity also makes it nessecary to have a central server or something for communication
This could cause some extra problems in the future and makes oversight less independent

Even tough it is a cool idea,
i think it is better to keep it with the online movies fora/sites for reviews/comments to do this.

I think it wouldn't be impossible to do it, with the NMT but I don't see the general necessity of a direct link in Oversight. If you catch my drift..
Technically the central server would be the NMT itself. And I think AlramEast only wants to share opinions with the few people he gave his nmt webserver password to. Otherwise there might be a lot of legal difficulties lurking
I think an independent Guestbook application would be better suited. But ofcourse it's lordy's opinion that's most important here.

As Oversight might in the future work as a fileserver to host your movies and share them with your friends, accessing this "fileserver" will most likely be from a PC environment. When accessing from a PC environment with a keyboard right infront of you that shouldn't be a problem. Right?
