This is our forum and we moderate it not Syabas. Respect that or face the consequences. You were asked to stop pushing your personal feature (Native Resolution NOT Deep Colour) request nicely and you still push it 'this goes hand in hand with native resolution'. You have been warned.

It is very simple. If everyone takes this topic and diverts it into a shambolic mess of posts about whatever is their number one issue then the thread will go nowhere. We are keeping this thread closely moderated to remain on topic and get the List of Bugs/Features from Syabas. Now and here is NOT the time for your personal crusade!

I will clean the thread shortly of off-topic posts.

It's not a personal crusade - it's very much on-topic, per my FIRST post, about how to better engage the user community to discuss both bugs and feature requests. THAT was the thrust of the post, and I simply provided an example. The other users clearly saw that, and commented as such. You seem to be the only one who didn't.

If you are going to make an issue of off-topic posts in this thread, then take why not take issue with the all of the posts on this page alone around YCrBr support as well, or better yet, ANYTHING in this thread not related to 3D MKV support, since that is the original topic?

RE: Syabas is first to support MKV3D
Sorry but I disagree and it sounded like a personal quest not only when you replied but when the first poster mentioned it.

Syabas has notice, they know about the request forum needing more attention, a log of bugs which mods and betatesters have spent a lot of time reporting, recreating and finding from personal experience and complaint posts here.. They know community developers aren't happy, requests have people feeling ignored also.. There is a lot of good in this thread and I have to agree that personal preference of what everyone thinks should be first changed doesn't belong here.

RE: Syabas is first to support MKV3D
Why not just split off a new thread dedicated to items for Syabas to address/discuss with forum members, I thought the purpose of this thread was to discuss the "newly" provided support for MKV3D?

There is good dialogue going on here, but because of the thread title it is most likely getting overlooked by other members who see MKV3D and could care less.

Cheers,
Damian

Why?

Because we dont want a thread with a load of posts asking for things that we already know about. We are trying to keep this manageable despite the lack of respect.

Visit the Mantis system and see the amount of bugs reported already. Those are now being gone through by Syabas and split into:-
1. Confirmed we will do something about it.
2. We cant replicate it
3. No chance its not on the cards
4. We will see if it is possible.

When that list is finalised and beta1 is out with some of those fixes comments/threads will be started.

We will start a new thread WHEN we have the List.

That's the correct time to start discussing individual issues not now. Then we can all shout for whatever is our own personal issue, remember though that many have reported issues up to 18 motnhs ago and seen no response. They should be dealt with first.

Fair enough, just don't see how a large majority of the talk in this thread relates to the Thread Topic, nor does it have to do with 18 month old issues.

RE: Syabas is first to support MKV3D
Trying to push Syabas to sort something out. There has been a big effort to fix some of the Mantis bugs that are reported and I've seen mention of different firmware plans and fixes, along with NMJv2 work. We just need someone to put together a simple list of what has been fixed and what's in engineering plans for near future please.

RE: Syabas is first to support MKV3D
First, I would like to thank Syabas for the support they added for 3D content Wink

Its seems that there is an issue with the support of the srt subtitles in 3D content, in case of a 3D movie with the SBS format, the subtitles appear only at the image which is intended to the left eye (left image) and therefore the subtitles appear blurry/semi transparent and cannot be watched properly. The only way to view subtitles properly is by converting it to sub/idx or other formats using external tools.
So, in order to make the support for 3D content complete this must be fixed, is there a chance this will be included in the next firmware release ?

No it wont come for the A100. The 100/110 has a 8635 chip whereas the 200 series has the 8643 which being more powerful can handle the 3D.

RE: Syabas is first to support MKV3D
There's nothing to "handle" vis-a-vis 3D in this setup. From the PCH's POV it is simply a 1920x1080 file to be sent over HDMI to the TV.

The trouble could be in the ability to signal SBS or TAB information over HDMI. I am not sure the HDMI interface in the earlier models is up to the task...

Perhaps there is a market for a little box that could attach to the output with a switch (or remote) to force a 3D signal? Or even auto-detect and add it.
