RE: AVCHD file playing in slow mo, no audio
Yes. Most media players can play the non 1080/60p MTS files directly including WD Live, Asus O!Play, Boxee, A/C-200, A/C-300. I can't imagine having to store the entire folder structure for every time you record videos. That would be extremely messy IMO. It wasn't until 1080/60p MTS files did almost all players have this video/audio problem. The only one that can handle it is the Boxee at this point but I don't recommend them because of their incompetent dev team.

RE: AVCHD file playing in slow mo, no audio
I'm suprised that your preference is to only play mts file directly. I spent 6 days in cyprus and I've ended up with 30 mts files starting from 00000.MTS to 00030.MTS. After a couple of years or 7TB's of mts files how painful is it going to be to find a particular video you want from a list of thousands of meaningless filenames? That's what makes MultiAVCHD a must imo.
If you're not at all bothered about the AVCHD structure why not just use TSMuxer to mux each MTS file into an M2TS file rather than a "AVCHD disk". Under "General track options" you just need to select "Change Level" and "4.1" from the drop down, select under "Output" "M2TS muxing" and away you go. Once you've got them all converted to m2ts with a 4.1 flag I don't see why you feel the need to keep the originals, where you previously mentioned having 7TB's of the original and 7TB's of converted. In the future for some bizarre reason you ever want to change em back to Level 4.2 you can with TSMuxer and you can restore the AVCHD structure and revert the files back to MTS with MultiAVCHD. |

For each .MTS file I would add a description like 2005_05_01-DinnerAtCoCoCurry.MTS If I had to keep the AVCHD structure and organize it by AVCHD folders that would be a nightmare to do!!! Would changing the level to 4.1 degrade the quality in anyway? Update: I tried using TSMuxer w/ the change to 4.1 level as you suggested but the problem still persist. Slow mo w/ no audio. |

RE: AVCHD file playing in slow mo, no audio
Hey,
Sorry ignore my last suggestion, it's been a couple of weeks since I was messing around and I forgot exactly what worked and what didn't. I got it into my head today that changing the flag to 4.1 was the be all and end all for the fix but it's not. I've just tried what I suggested and it doesn't work. Apologies for the mistake. With regards to changing the level to 4.1, no the quality is not altered, it's just a flag that's changed, the video and audio are untouched hence the quick muxing time. So you only kept the MTS files and have deleted all the AVCHD structures? |

Yep. That's what I have been doing for years since 2006/2007 before 1080/60p content and it never failed me until the 60p content around 2011 with my new camcorder.

RE: AVCHD file playing in slow mo, no audio
ok, so to clarify an earlier post you don't have to have an AVCHD file structure for each MTS if you don't want to, you could have one for all to date or break them down by year etc. MultiAVCHD gives you the a playable menu that allows you to achieve what you currently do by renaming the files.
If you have the patience just modify the 60p content by converting to m2ts and 4.1 as above then in MultiAVCHD you should be able to just add the mts video files (old and 60p) and produce one AVCHD output. MultiAVCHD then provides a load of flexibility. |

RE: AVCHD file playing in slow mo, no audio
Hi Mates,
I just bought a Panasonic V700 and experience exactly the same problems, independently if I watch the mts or the AVCHD Progressive structure (video stuttering, no audio after few seconds) - in the case of playing the AVCHD, the A210 sometimes even crashes before playing the video. Already tried most of the solutions proposed in the forum and none of them worked properly. Has any owner of a Panasonic camcorder managed to make it work on the A210 on a straight forward manner? Thanks. |
