PCH NEVER give estimated dates. We are finally at Beta1 stage but there is a lot of work left to get it to stable. Usually we see at least 4 revisions.

Bluray is not a stable market yet unlike say DVD. Bluray disc authoring is varied, there are at least three different ways and AACS also updates regularily. It was on AACS+24 last time I checked. That is why the C200 requires regular updates and why you should alsways update when there is a AACS key update like there was on 3 june 2011.
With regards the LiteON BD ROM I had the same model and it was crap. In fact I removed it and put it in my PC. It still wouldn't play any of the discs that the C200 wouldn't play. you do have 2Gb of storage available for it dont you?

Same problem:

I Get 'Bad region' with "The way back"
(region set = B, bly-ray disc = B, Firmware june3rd)

fix this please...it is getting embarrassing when they see me in Block buster.
I keep wanting my money back because the player can not play 1 of 5 Blu-rays.

Disc drive is on the positive list, all green, don't even go there.

RE: C-200 Blue Ray "Bad Disk Region" all Blue Ray's released after 1-1-2011
Same/Strange problem

I had a LG CH08LS10 which played TRON Legacy without any problem which is a Disney BD. Somehow the LG broke down and I have replaced it with a Samsung SH-B123. Now the BD of TRON Legacy (or any other blu-ray disc for that matter) won't play. It doesn't matter to which region I set de PCH (1, 2 or 3), it keeps displaying Bad Region Disc. Retail or burned DVD are no problem.

I checked the Samsung player in the compatibility list and it should work fine. I also have the latest firmware on my PCH.

So, is this a PCH/Sigma issue or a BD-player issue?

please help.

---------edit---------
With the Samsung not playing any BD, I returned the unit. In a different PC-store I found another LG CH08LS10. I installed it and it's playing all nicely.

PCH C-200: Samsung 640GB 2,5" HDD, LG CH08LS10 [HDMI-> Onkyo TX-SR608 [HDMI-> Panasonic TX-L37G10.

Blueray player - Samsung (SH-B083) blueray player
Blueray player - Samsung (SH-B083) blueray player
Hi,
I posted this in the C200 post but then found this one and thought it was more appropriate...

I have a C200 with the latest firmware and a Samsung (SH-B083) blueray player. For some reason the blueray will not work... will not play bluerays/dvds ect... Am debating whether to risk the money and grab another (If so which is the most compatible) OR is there a quick fix regarding the new upgrade and minor adjustments?

All help much appreciated.

Thanks,
Troy

RE: C-200 Blue Ray "Bad Disk Region" all Blue Ray's released after 1-1-2011
Another "Bad Disk Region" datapoint:

I replaced my LiteOn iHOS104 (which was beginning to act seriously flaky) with an LG CH10LS28. Suddenly all bluRay discs gave "Bad Disk Region", including all region (ABC) discs. Changing the BD region made no difference. DVD was fine.

Then I got a CH08LS10 to replace the CH10LS28 with, and all was well again.

So it seems this can happen on any newer model of BD-ROM drive. Only older models are safe.

This was on the "Public RC" firmware, by the way.

RE: C-200 Blue Ray "Bad Disk Region" all Blue Ray's released after 1-1-2011
Hi,

I have upgraded to the firmware published few days ago [Firmware 03-04-130115-21-POP-408 (03-04-111220-21-POP-408) (21.01.2013)] It contains mainly only AACS key update. This update solved my "Bad Disk Region" problem.

I have LiteOn iHOS104-32 BD Player in the C-200.

Same issue with the latest firmware and a recent Samsung BD player - bad disk region... My C200 has been unusable for reading my BD discs so far, with two different players. Finger-pointing aside, this issue should be researched by all teams involved. Is anyone reading ?....
