Yes, you can play files without turning on the tv, with DMT the option "play in nmt" will play the files in the NMT

Only one piece of advice if you are using playlist files, you can play playlist files with "play in nmt". The only bad thing is that it needs the playlist files to be created in the nmt folders. You can use a software to create the playlist for you ( Mp3tag, etc...) or you can use the create playlist functionality with the infrared remote control of your nmt.

Droided Media Tank will open playlist to play in the nmt. Listening playlist on the phone/tablet is not supported

I would love if you can had the ability to add a media to the current NMT playlist from this application.
It doesn't matter if you don't display the playlist content on your app.
Just giving the ability to add a single or multiple media file to the NMT current playlist from your App would be awesome!

This is the last feature which prevent me from buying the pro version.
