RE: Why did you have to reboot your NMT?
After jumping through a movie a few times (by pressing the numeric buttons), the A-210 will sometimes fail to play any more movies (spinning wheel and the it says it can't play the movie). After a reboot I can play the movies again successfully.

This is quite annoying as this is my first experience of a Popcorn Hour product, and it just doesn't seem to work properly. Hopefully, this will be addressed soon, as part from this, everything else seems to work fine.

Latest firmware version.

RE: Why did you have to reboot your NMT?
the only time I experience that jumping around thing is if I jump a little too fast back and forth OR it's a problematic encoding like a broke avi that the pch can play but it's not as clean as it could be for jumpnig around.

RE: Why did you have to reboot your NMT?
Just this morning I tried to wake my A210 up and it was unresponsive. Or I should say the D-pad let me move around a little in the jukebox but it did not properly move where I wanted it to. It kept going back to the upper left movie of the jukebox.

I removed power for 5 seconds and rebooted. It then came up to the settings screen with the "busy" wheel in the upper left on, but not turning. It was unresponsive and would not allow me to navigate at all.

I again removed power, this time for 5 minutes or so, and rebooted. This time it came back up properly.

I am suspecting the old 40 GB hard drive that I put in it (just to place the NMT tools on). I use an external networked storage vault served up by a Mac Mini for my videos.

I am going to monitor the situation but will probably end up replacing the hard drive soon.

Happy Day

RE: Why did you have to reboot your NMT?
Reboots (for me) is when it can't figure out how to play a video, just the spinning wheel and sometime reboots are because of the network connection in some sort of loop.

Just a follow up to my previous post.

Exactly 13 months after buying an A210 it has puked. Good thing it has a 12 month warranty. Say what you will about other people's hardware but at least they have longer warranties. I didn't expect a whole lot for $240 but I expected at least 2 to 3 years of use before it became landfill fodder.

I am going to give Syabas one more chance to impress me by buying an A300. If that pukes after 1 year it will be my last purchase from them. I have a 2nd generation iPod that is still working and a Mac Performa 550 that still boots up. They may have cost a little more but they are still working.

Syabas needs to improve their quality.

Happy Day

Follow up #2:
After rebooting 10 times or so by cycling power I removed the hard drive I had suspected might be going bad. Still no joy.
Rebooted another 10 times or so waiting a hours or days in between. Still no joy.
Then I decided to try a reboot with the network disconnected. The PCH came up and was responsive so I installed the latest firmware.
So far it is working, I will cross my fingers and hope that this was a software or firmware glitch.

I am running the A210 bare with no drives or usb sticks and no apps loaded. Nothing but a front end to my mac mini serving up the videos. So far, so good.

Once my new A300 gets here the A210 will become a secondary if it is still functional. We will see how long it lasts.

Happy Day

RE: Why did you have to reboot your NMT?
I have often reported that I frequently had to reboot my C-200 because it could not play any video after I jumped 2/3 times ahead or because the audio was lost. It was even worse than my A-100.
On this board it has never been admitted it was a failure of the unit. I was determined not to buy a PCH anymore.
A friend had discovered the easy use of the Apple-TV, so I could purchase his A-300 for a small price. I took the risk, also because the A-300 is already a while on the market, because a brand new unit of Syabas I would never buy again.
I now have the A-300 for a week in use and with the same material I didn't have to reboot at all...

RE: Why did you have to reboot your NMT?
NMT Type= A-210
Firmware = 03-04-120727-21-POP-411-000

Hi,
I just upgraded my firmware from 02-04-110519-21-POP-411-000 (May 2011) to
02-04-110519-21-POP-411-000 (July 2012). When I do watch a movie and finishes it, when I watch again, it hangs up! I cannot pause, stop, or whatever you wanted to do. I saw this forum and tried to hold the power or eject button and it worked.

is there a bug regarding the July 2012 firmware update?

I think it is better to downgrade huh?

Thanks!

If I play a Blu-ray, I'll have to reboot to play anything else.

Sad RE: Why did you have to reboot your NMT?
I have to reboot because the nmt is running very slow or sometimes not responding at all. Often the nmt apps won't even start and I have to make a reset to factory settings... I've just re-installed the latest firmware and hope that it will run more smoothly Huh I'm a bit disappointed by my c200 to be honest : I did not know I would spend so much time on forums trying to troubleshoot different kind of issues Sad It's a good thing that the community is there to help.

RE: Why did you have to reboot your NMT?
NMT: A210
Firmware: Latest

I upgrade to the latest firmware, reset to factory settings and reconfigure it.
After a few minutes running, the unit froze, I can't get into it may it be through SAMBA, FTP not even the NMT apps running.

Rebooted and it is running fine again for few days until it decided to froze again.

RE: Why did you have to reboot your NMT?
NMT: A300
Firmware: 05-02-121116-23-POP-421-000

Reboot several times after conecting to the pc. Several reboots when i turn the A300 off at night, and i turn it back on. It just doesn't reconises my hdd. I hope someday there will be an solution for this problem.

I bought this one 3 weeks ago, and my first impression is that the A300 is verry verry unstable
