I tried Transmission 2.13 & 2.21 with this firmware, and none of them worked. Maybe you'll be more lucky.

Yesterday I properly installed March 2010 firmware again, and Transmission 2.13, without problems. After 30 hours downloading and rechecking torrents, still working fine. Right now 20 torrents loaded (60 peers global limit), 5 downloading, 14 waiting for check, 1 checking, and no problems. Will tell after last one finish checking, but it seems Transmission have come back to pre-installing-another-buggy-firmware status. March 2010 firmware never seemed so good to me!

I have just tried to update the latest firmware without care the warning saying that !!! IMPORTANT: Please update to 01-17-101217-15-POP-403 firmware first before updating to this firmware !!!.
My firmware version was not 101217 and during the update, the process stopped and never finished.Now I see only a blank black screen.I am trying to play film but I saw only subtitles.Well then I downloaded the firmware version 101217 and tried to update but the process stopping.What should I do please help

I think you should try to install March 2010 firmware. So reboot an if you are lucky enough for seeing the gaya interface again, plug the usb drive with firmware inside, search for the "usbupdate.html" file in the root directory, and press OK.

If you only have a black screen, you will have to back up all your media content, and trying a clean installation. This means attaching your drive to a Linux system (or a system booted from a Linux Live USB/CD/DVD), or a Windows system running Ext2Fsd driver.

Once you have backed up all your media, just simply delete the partitions on the drive, install it into the Popcorn again, and let it do all the job with first boot. Once finished, install new firmware as you want, but I recommend you going to March 2010 firmware again.

What firmware are you running now? Went back to March 2010 firmware, like me?

Transmission 2.21 is working fine for me too. No Gaya interface, but controlled through Transmission Remote works great.

How many torrents are you running? Yesterday and again this morning, my Popcorn got frozen. It seems going back to March 2010 firmware wasn't enough. I think I'll have to backup all the media and reformatting the HDD. What a mess...!

The question is, after reformatting, will be worth installing December 2010 firmware from scratch and trying April 2011 firmware again? Please, tell us if you have any problem with it.

I'm running around 6/7 torrent, I don't do anything more than upgrade Transmission version. If i got news, i came back to you !

Does anyone know if the 4kb-sector alignment of new HDD's (as described in the Wiki's http://www.networkedmediatank.com/wiki/i...e_NMT_Apps and http://www.networkedmediatank.com/wiki/i...100/A-110) is still necessary with this version firmware, or does this firmware automatically align partitions according to the 4kb sectors?

I just bought a Samsung F4 HD204UI and want to know if I still should allign the partitions manually for best performance.

I think you should just ask if there will be next version firmware, because this device seems pretty abandoned on Syabas side from one year ago.
