Since 24th March 2010 firmware (last tested as stable enough for release, FMPOV), they released the 18th August 2010 firmware, the 23rd December 2010 (stepstone) firmware, and the 5th April 2011 firmware (this tread). And if you read all of those firmware treads, you realize that all of them, except maybe this last one (I hope), introduced more bugs than fixes.

March 2010 firmware fixed (although not completely) the color space conversion errors (http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...tid=19366) reported on March 2009. This update also added Shoutcast Radio, and upgraded BT client to Transmission 1.75. Nice.

But after another year, and two vain attempts of fixing things, we get this April 2011 firmware (and thanks again for that). I assumed a lot of time ago that the color space conversion errors will never be fixed completely, so no problem for that. At least the MKVs with compression headers are handled without problems, and the subtitles OSD flickering is solved again (like it was on March 2010 firmware). But after so many time, the Advanced Format disk compatibility is still not solved (and I think it'll never be solved for 100/110 series), and embedded Transmission is still 1.75!

I've installed this last firmware, but I'm beginning to doubt if the MKV compression header update is worth it. I've installed CSI Transmission 2.21 and I'm suffering a lot of problems that weren't there with March 2010 firmware. And I'm still testing (http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...&page=38), because I would like to see this April 2011 firmware working. But Transmission is right now on 2.31 release, and you can check all the corrected bugs (https://trac.transmissionbt.com/wiki/Cha...sion-2.31) since v.1.75, so that's not an option anymore.

Transmission 1.75 was released on September 2009. The Advanced Format issue is well known from almost one year ago, and corrected on 200 series from December 2010. And I seriously think that firmware development on 100/110 series is dead right now, and pretty abandoned since C-200 launch. But that's just MPOV.

I've got Madagascar 2 as a 1080p file. During playback - about 7 mins into the film, there's a scene where there are hundreds of lemurs all on screen at the same time - and the bitrate spikes.

During this scene my A110 gives up.

Output is set to 1080p/23.976 and Framesync to NTSC/PAL/24p

I've gone back to 01-17-100516-15-POP-403-000 and it works fine again.

With this firm, i have a new problem. A few times, when i start the popcorn, the image shakes (mmmm, dont shake, the image move up and down) i must restart it and all is normal

what's happen? anyone has the same problem?

Using the standard unmodified update here, but the PCH BT CGI doesn't seem
to work properly with Transmission 1.75, while it did with the prior one.

• When the downloadlist is empty, I can add a new torrent without problems
• Every subsequently added torrent slows the response of the BT page down
• After having added about four torrents, I get a time-out, getting the message
  to press the return-button

Also, while the torrents are downloading, the statistics aren't updated, so I can
never estimate when a download should be finished.
The only way I can determine if a download has finished, is by checking if the
torrent in question has switched from "Leeching" to "Seeding"
When a torrent is seeding, all statistics are still reporting 0, btw.

Another thing is that I cannot access the Transmission-page, when torrents
are active, using my bowser...
My browser tries to connect to port 8077 and gets a redirect to the loginpage
of Transmission, but after that... nothing
When there are no torrents active, I can login to Transmission, though.

Has anyone else encountered this?

Could you explain how did you get back to this old firmware ?

December 2010 is a stepstone firmware, so once installed you need to proceed as going back to fail-safe kernel. Look here:

Well in the past ive never had any problems with my A110 but not i can not play any .mkv's without having to reboot all the time!!

Its highly annoying since its only recently its started doing this

I have not upgraded my software since the March 2010 update-which was excellent, by the way. I see now that since (4 updates) there has been nothing but problems. Why the hell can't the crew sort these messes out and test the software updates thoroughly prior to releasing them?

I think I must agree with the other posters who believe the newer models have caused the trusty A100/A110 to be almost ignored as far as usability goes.

Can we please have a comment from werner as to a STABLE ERROR FREE update is now available?

I have a Popcorn A-110 and the last updated firmware I have is 01-17-091202-15-POP-403-000. I try to update the firmware through my WiFi connection through the "check for firmware update" button, but the response I get back is "Request Cannot Be Processed".

Can someone help me out?

Have you set internet/network setting in your A-110 correctly?
