RE: Dragontech ioBox HD100 - New Firmware
Simply install it will be fine, remember to look for an NMT Apps update as well as a firmware update if you are using the NMT Apps. Not every update has an NMY Apps update so check the firmware release notes for the correct version of the NMT Apps for the firmware.

RE: Dragontech ioBox HD100 - New Firmware
I have downloaded firmwares before using "Download Managers" like Download Accelerator Plus only to pull my hairs for many days as my NMT would not function well. Iam partially bald now. Advanced Hair Studios are calling me constantly for business.
![]() I suggest to disable any download managers before downloading firmwares. Such action will save you countless hours of fault finding and emailing support teams. |

RE: Dragontech ioBox HD100 - New Firmware
Yeah, I'm kind of wondering if there is a way to be notified of ioBox firmware updates, too.
The automatic download thing in the ioBox setup menu doesn't work. The ioBox no longer shows up on Dragontech's website, and I was just reading the older "Dragontech looks dead" thread with some dismay, then I noticed this one. Downloading now... fingers crossed. RE: Dragontech ioBox HD100 - New Firmware
Is there a place to download the required NMT apps (00-17-091216-15-RTD-402) on their own?

RE: Dragontech ioBox HD100 - New Firmware
In fact I am very disappointed to use ioBox. The BT page won't respond very often (even for only 1 torrent file !). The machine hangs up and I don't know the device is 'busy' for what ?
Does anyone knows any alternative firmware and NMT upgrade to replace the firmware by dragontech ? |

RE: Dragontech ioBox HD100 - New Firmware
The place to ask about alternative firmwares is probably NOT the forum hosted by the company that wrote the firmware. Go ask Microsoft if they know where to get a good torrent of Windows 7.

RE: Dragontech ioBox HD100 - New Firmware
It isn't something worth getting myself banned over, but I do wonder if it could become a legitimate question at some point in the future, given that DragonTech is clearly out of the NMT business. They're apparently still quietly releasing occasional updates, but it seems reasonable to assume that won't last.
But speaking as a professional developer, I certainly understand why it's a touchy subject. DragonTech ioBox 100-series NMT / Internal 2TB WD green, external 4TB NAS |

RE: Dragontech ioBox HD100 - New Firmware
If there was an open-source alternative, it would still be contrary to Syabas' business and therefore frowned upon (if not bannable) in these here forums. That's not to say that other forums wouldn't welcome the discussion. But the hardware is pretty rarified and the code is almost entirely proprietary, so don't hold your breath waiting for alternative firmware that's up to date. Don't get me wrong, I sympathize with you since I'm in the same boat with my egreat box but it's more likely that PCH would create a program where orphaned 3rd-party owners like us could pay a nominal fee to become legitimate NMTs again and receive support directly from Syabas. Given the (albeit subtle) hardware differences between 3rd party boxen, which would be a headache and a half to support, plus the fact that 1st gen NMTs are commercially obsolete anyway, that's not likely to ever happen either.
Hopefully your DT box will continue to work well enough until it's time to upgrade. eGreat EG-M32B - 1TB Samsung EcoGreen F2 |

Well, they could offer a 'trade in' price to get the old units out of service |

Does anyone have a WIFI dongle in this box so I can connect wireless to my NAS/Freebox? If yes, which USB dongle do I need to buy? |
