A110 & Samsung HD203WI - some files demaged after coping vis USD to internal HDD
I have A110 for more than 2 year.
Till Dec 2010 it was running with no problems. In Dec 2010 I've replaced my old 1TB HDD with Samsung 2TB HD203WI. I've formated the new HDD under my A110. I've also upgraded to the newest available firmware (01-17-101217-15-POP-403) Since than I've problems with some files copied to internal 2TB HDD. From the very begining I'm coping all my files through USD port from different external sources (mainly 2,5'' 60GB and 3,5'' 500GB HDDs). When playing from external source all is right. After coping to internal HDD, some HD files are demaged. Movies freezes for 1-3 seconds but sound is OK. When coping back from internal to external and comparing md5, hash values are different. I've checked (fsck) internal 2TB disk under ubuntu and it was all right (only 8% fragmented). How do you think what could be the reason? HDD? USB port? New firmware? Something else? |

If the MD5 values are different, then the files were corrupted during the copy.
How are you copying the files? With the remote (Filemode button)? From USB drives connected directly to the A-110? From a PC with the USB drive connected to a PC? |

Yes, they are corrupted.
I'm copying with the remote from the drives connected to front USD port of my A-110. I'm using this method for more than 2 years. Till the HDD swap and firmware upgarde all was right and no file was currupted. |

RE: A110 & Samsung HD203WI - some files demaged after coping vis USD to internal HDD
Hello!
I have a similar problem! Only difference: I did NOT change my harddisk for 1.5 years, only regular firmware updates to the A110. About 3-4 months ago I started having the problem with "unplayable" video files (usually .mkv), when copying them back to my main computer, the filesize was different and they were unplayable (damaged during USB transfer). At first the problem occured only with some files (smaller files <600MB seemed to transfer ok), but meanwhile not a single transferred file is playable. ![]() I am using a Windows 7 Home Professional x64 system with the ext2fsd freeware and usually attach the popcorn hour via the rear USB port. For file transfer I use the internal W7 file copier or the freeware Supercopy. Anyone else having this problem? Any solution? p.s.: I haven't had time yet to try transferring files via network cable or directely via SATA2 but attempt that soon. |

having the same problem.
USB stick transfer to internal HDD corrupted the files. Using USB external drive to transfer to internal HDD keeps them safe ![]() (04-12-2011 09:49 AM)pcernuska Wrote: Hello! |

RE: A110 & Samsung HD203WI - some files demaged after coping vis USD to internal HDD
It seems to be a bug in software when copying through USB port.
I've upgarded to the newest version of software (5 Apr. 2011) and the problem remains. Files get demaged when copying from device connected to the USB port. But when I'm copying through Ethernet port using FTP protocol ALL IS RIGHT and files are the same as they are on source media. I've verified that by copying from USD disk connected to the PC to A110 via FTP, and than back again from A110 to USD disk connected to the PC via FTP. Than I've compared MD5 hashes of both files - thay was THE SAME. So in my opinion it's a bug in A110 soft - any ideas what to do with that or where to report to? |

Same prob here. Lost 300 GB movie files. Moving from external hdd witg NTFS to the internal ext3 HDD mostly MKV Files. with 4.5Gbs each, using the a-110 file copy procedure from the command.
It took all night. And now most of them are unusable.... They play and freeze now form time to time. Guess the files got corrupted somehow. But some still play. This is very serious THIS COST ME 300GB OF INFO!!!! and no one solves this !!!!!!!!!! Popcorn Hour Support SUCKS! |

RE: A110 & Samsung HD203WI - some files demaged after coping vis USD to internal HDD
I realized this issue two years ago and, since then, I copy all the movies through ethernet port. As Aviador2000, I lost some movies due to copy them using the popcorn.
It's a big problem because ethernet port is too slow. I have to move more than 500gb from internal disk to usb one and I'm going to spend long hours doing it. |
