People who have never used an htpc full time quickly learn why so many don't use htpcs after owning one for awhile. It's not a buy and forget device.. your going to need to throw more money and replace parts over it's lifetime. And then you have the added cost of electricity and cooling in the house.

I'm sorry you feel over 4 years is too short for the device. I've been happy with my still working a110s and stopped updating their firmware long before it was discontinued because it was 100% stable for my house needs.

i'm not here to change your mind but I will take a moment to chime in with my experience of still fully functional first generation hardware to help the next person who reads this thread decide if syabas products should be considered.
