BD Playback without internal HDD

DVD Region Setting:
1.) Insert an DVD Disc which has the Region you wanna setup, if the Region is not the same as the Disc has, it wont work!
2.) Please go into the Setup Page
3.) press now "Slow, 1, 6, 8, 3" on your remote (SLOW means the |> Button on the Remote)
4.) now an popup shows up, on the remote use the number for the region you wanna set.

1.) go into Setup (no need to put an BluRay into the drive)
2.) press now "Slow, 1, 6, 6, 3" on your remote (SLOW means the |> Button on the Remote)

Before we get swamped with queries, the Beta Testers have obviously used this firmware and here's what we found;

Code:

- Fixed ability to extract Dolby Digital (AC3) core from TrueHD stream,
     can bitstream and downmix now.

YES this is true but please be informed that you will only be able to extract AC3 core from BDMV/BD ISO and M2TS files.

You will NOT be able to playback AC3 core from a TrueHD stream in TS files.
You will NOT be able to playback AC3 core from a TrueHD stream in MKV files.

The reason it doesn't work for MKV is because it discards AC3 cores in TrueHD tracks. If you don't believe me, please read it from the author of mkvtoolnix himself;

Also important is the implementation of Deep Color in Setup > Audio/Video

Code:

Added manual setting of YCbCr colorspace (BT.601 and BT.709). Auto colorspace is under development.

Select BT.709 for playback of HD content and BT.601 for SD content.

Expect problems if you don't follow it until Automatic detection is implemented in future firmware.

I've had problems starting .iso from UMC, when playing over the network. Is this the same problem? Why does this say 'from USB'?

UMC had a different issue how they handled dvd/bd that has nothing todo with this fix, mooh (UMC dev) released a database converter 1 month ago as far as i know which should fix that issue if you used the firmware release before the 8 March Firmware.

There was a other bug which broken the BD/DVD from Flash Api at all with the 8 March firmware release, this is with that build fixed again.

They state it is USB because that was the root cause, anyway it is related to starting BD/DVD from Flash Api.

Thank you Werner, does this mean that the Eversion/Yamj skin will play iso's and BD file structure files?

Well, even without doing any database conversion, I can now play .iso files from UMC.

I tested gapless FLAC and WAV and can tell the problem is not gone, just different
With previous firmware glitch was present 5-8 seconds before track transition, with new firmware and FLAC small glitch is present exact between second 2 and 3 of next track. It is very small like from scratched vinyl. With WAV files gap is very audible and something about 0.1-0.2 seconds exact at track transition. The gap varies from one play attempt to another. I tested it with song divided in two files in wave editor. On PC files play OK with no glitch.
C200 is connected to Marantz SR5003 trough HDMI.
Another problem that exists in all firmwares, is that at playback start some small part is lost, because c200 not start output audio data stream before actual playback begins. In result receiver can not synchronize and correctly start decoding. In audio CD this is managed by 2 seconds pregap present by standard. Audio CD's play correctly with c200 (including HDCD coded if volume is set to 0). This problem is worse with files made from CD that is recorded in HDCD format because receiver must recognize format id that is coded in LSB of audio data (this will be so only with receiver that recognizes HDCD format because other receivers will play it as ordinary CD).

Hmm tested here with 4 albums which are gapless,i have converted to flac and have no gap or glitch, i am connected to a Onkyo 606 over hdmi, with the onkyo i also don't loose anything at the beginning.

First time an update went wrong. No errors when updating but after the reboot it keeps hanging in the loading screen. Will have to try the recovery procedure I guess.
