Stream from C-200 to Apple TV

Hi all,

I've checked a lot of forum posts but couldn't find an answer.
I want to stream movies from my popcorn hour (C-200) to my Apple TV. The reason is that I've an apple TV in my bedroom and my C-200 is in the living room.

Can this be done?

If the AppleTV ca mount an NFS or SMB share (which I think it can) - I don't see why not?
Assuming you have installed NMT Apps, enable the SMB service.

Then connect from the AppleTV to the NMT IP/share with user: nmt pass: 1234

The Apple TV cannot access a NFS or SMB shares (out of the box). But thanks for your tip! I found this site: http://blog.firecore.com/4592.

Last time I had a look it was a friend's AppleTV2 with xbmc. I recall him accessing Windows shares from his PC.

But if the links says "SMB streaming", that should do it then!?

Hi, I installed aTV flash from Firecore, then I can see and access my C-200 and so my movies. The only thing is that the movies stutter when trying to play. Probably the resolution of the movies is to high (Full HD 1080p) so it takes up to much bandwith (the AppleTV is on a wireless N-standard network)? I'm going to try a lower res (720P) and try it again.
By installing Seas0nPass (http://support.firecore.com/entries/387605) I can also install xbmc on the AppleTV2. Maybe xbmc has a support for the movie files, I'm also going to try that and will post back my results.

Stuttering on high-bitrate media (such as many 1080p encodes) is very likely due to bottlenecks in network, such as wireless. Having a 802.11n network is no warranty that there is enough bandwidth at all times; it depends upon many environmental factors.

(signal strength, quality and capacity: end to end, concurrency in yours and neighbors wifi network, microwave ovens, stone walls, tin foil hats and what have you )

I believe you'll find 720p media if not stutter free, then at least close to. If you want to play everything, you'd have to be very thorough when ensuring your Wifi is up for speed (it has been done by some users, as posted in this forum) or, as most tend to do, bring the Ethernet cable and wire all connection points.

(I'm assuming your 1080p media is already checked, that it doesn't stutter over wired or local HDD/USB-storage.)
