RE: NMJ V2 Source Menu whats your opinion
I think the icons are OK, the layout could be better but it looks tight (don't know the right word).
But then, the colors! wtf! How flashy can you make a menu... I like the idea of chosing the source first and then being able to chose between watching a movie/playing music and so on from that source. Also recent is nice. However, the implementation is confusing. And if i'm not mistaken, the idea is already somehow present in the current view. So why change thing? Make the current circular view better? Now you chose harddisk and you go to the root of the disk. Maybe make a submenu (like currently available for network and setup) that you can move down and chose the task? Anyway, before I would force users to switch to a complete nmj-based structure, I would make sure nmj works very well. I don't have much time anymore to test stuff and i have all my files and nfo's according to yamj specs. I know there's some piece of software to convert a yamj library, but it's not how nmj was meant to be used. And if i chose to make a nmj for my internal hard drive, nmj starts and hangs after a couple of minutes. Leaving it overnight results in a nmj still hanging, so i can't create a library easily. Not very user-friendly so i keep on using yamj. If you don't care about looks but about the pch to be user-friendly, at this moment you defenitely don't want to switch to nmj, but you want to stay with the old way of navigating i think... |
