i regenerated MKV files, removed headers spent to much time reading up on MKV stuff, thing just randomly locks up.

All that helps is, power it off, and restart. then it will startup, i can play a MKV but there is no timelimit on crashing. can be in 2 mins but also after 20 mins.

I have the opposite issue with my A-200. It plays MKV videos great but hangs/distorts with AVI. I had originally started my library with AVI files, but I had to switch to MKV to get them to play correctly.

My config notes:

1. Using Linux nfs v3 (tcp mode) Samba is much slower than NFS and has a lot more overhead since CIFS is really netbios encapsulated in TCP/IP Packets.
2. Using AVIDEMUX 2.5.4 to transcode (on Linux) using MPEG4 ASP (xvid) - H.263 Matrix
3. Limiting AV streams to about 1.5 Mbps or about 400 MB/hr of video for TV (analog) recorded media
4. Using Handbrake to transcode DVDs
5. Not using HD Blueray media.
6. PCH A200 connected to 10 Mbps Switch (Not even 10/100 Mbps, just an old Cisco 10 Mbps switch).
7. Assigned static IP address to PCH. I think I also turn off Auto and selected Ethernet speed.
8. Using hardwired Ethernet. I made sure to route CAT5 wire around electrical noise (avoid routing near fluorescent lights and AC power lines) When crossing AC Power lines CAT5 cables are always strictly perpendicular to minimize EMI.
