I once had an HDX1000 (sold), replaced by an A-200.
No more PCH for me. Looking for alternatives. Someone should wake-up or find themselves in the same status as Digitech (HDX1000 maker). Once upon a time there was a "Beta Firmware" thread: http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...p?tid=8159 A200 [moovika case], NMJ Synology DS710+ |

The last post I can find from Werner in this thread is dated from the 29th of May 2011 and it does not mention anything about what to expect. quick look I didn't see it either. it said there was a round of new player firmwares that would happen shortly after the holiday. (probably some sigma patches). then the 200s would see a round after that. Not sure exactly how long a round means but I know QA testing tends to take a week so figure 4-5 weeks minimum |

RE: [A-200/A-210] Firmware 02-04-110519-21-POP-411 (02-04-101104-21-POP-411) (27.05.2011)
Summary after 2 months of trying to use my PCH (my setup: USB stick with nmt apps/lunix
, internal SATA HDD for the whole data) :- ftp service is crappy becausethe root user nmt will have access to whole HDD, not only to a specific directory. I created a new ftp user, but could not go beyond attributing rights to only one specific directory for this ftp user, like SATA_HARDDISK\ftpdir\ with RW rights . I can live with that, frankly- stopped service, problem solved. - as soon as torrents run, the pch will crash & reboot if watching movies or calling any other functions. I have the feeling that only pressing any buttons on the remote will send the PCH to Hades . I can live with that too, no torrs- problem solved.- NMJ s-u-c-k-s big time, pretty much hassle dealing with it. can live with that not using it, problem solved. But those are BASIC functionalities you praise in your product marketing and these (as the forum points out) simply do not work properly: - cannot play back .iso files which run even on my primitive car DVD player, pch won't even start several .iso's which work on any other silly DVD device - subtitles don't always work - audio / video lipsync is less than inexistent for many movies which are perfectly in-lipsync played back on other devices (home cinema, PC, notebook, DVD player- all playing same file) - current firmware is unstable AND there are no updates since more than half an year Besides that, A210 doesn't even play back all files in a directory! I mean, hello?!.... I need to create a crappy playlist for every single directory only to be able to play all files, in the 21. century?! even microshoshies can do that.... I will give up on this product- as it seems, the firmware won't be updated soon if at all anymore. @Siabas: my AiVX device (now EOL, no further updates unfortunately )had also update-able flashes, and the few updates / year were real improvements and were stable too. Subtitles would simply work by copying the files with same name in same directory, lipsync and all available, synch-ed subtitles with the movie... Luckily, there's better than you on the market so you'll have either to improve or disappear by treating your customers the way you do... you don't need customers, no problem I go back to Sarotech and T3 UFO's.One angry still-customer. |

Uhm, it's now the 6th of February and still no new firmware.. Is the A2xx platform death? Last reaction I received was the introduction of a new product at the IFA in 2011.
Please, give the A2xx users an update about the firmware (09-07-2011 08:18 PM)halfelite Wrote:(09-07-2011 08:17 PM)super_dirk Wrote: It's the 7th of September now and it's very quiet around the development of new firmware releases for the A200 and A210. Is there anybody who could give us (the popcorn A200 users) an update? Popcorn A100 and A200 user.. |

I´ve just received an answer from Syabas Support that there is no official estimates for a next update of a fw for A-200/210.
I have friends working for International Data Group that are thinking of writing a piece about Syabas and how Syabas support their existing customers. It will be interesting how it will be received since IDG has publications globally for such articles... |

Would not change much. although syabas communication has dropped recently. its no different with the countless other companies in the media player world. But if the C200 is close like werner has mentioned an A200/210 should follow shortly. |

If you look at the C-300 firmware thread you can see that Werner made some comments on the current situation. My conclusion is that we are going to see a new firmware again in the near future (march or april). Read the post for yourself to make your own conclusion. Yes, there are some issues with current firmware (in my case sometimes dropping the network connection, that only a reset will cure), but I am still very happy with my A200. Yes, the media player landscape is changing, but there are not many media players out there that can be customized to the way the end user likes it best.

I, possibly stupidly, updated to this firmware on my A210 and now it seems hosed. The menus are just white boxes etc etc.
I have tried the firmware recovery from the Wiki but even after recovering to the recovery image it is still the same ![]() Can someone help? Get rid of your custom menus etc. Then reboot.
