I have the problem that occasionally when I have played some files with DTS or superior sounds (HD MAster eg) I get no sound when I next play some mp3 audio files or Divx with mpeg audio. I only hear a little noise. After a reboot everything works OK again.

Any suggestions?

Don't hope to much, since the arrival of the 300 series, the 200 series looks EOL.....

It seems so, but it's not EOL. There's 2 more firmware due for it (one using Gaya and the other with new flash UI).

as for the multi-mount, it was never an advertised feature of the 200 series. It was developed as a feature request due to lots of users who have multiple sources of content across their LAN.

I'm not from Syabas but I will give a guestimate....

If beta gets released by 2nd week march, that means last week of march for C200 release, then give another 1-2 weeks before A200/A210 series gets released.

fe3pluz.... I reckon they have more serious stuff to deal with than implementing ipv6. Some of the negligences in the current firmware build might be liable issues somebody would consider to pursue: single ftp user, which is admin user, which has a standard password, which once logged in can see the entire partition or even drive where the ftp service points to.
Not to mention the 'strange' (or amateurish) concept of having an ftp service on an 'inside network machine' in order to open ftp ports directly to the 'productive / home environment'. Or to have the NMT in the DMZ...
What's the thought behind, opening ftp ports into the productive LAN? secondly, never mind where the PCH is- the entire PCH can be read by the unique admin=ftp user? Great architecture indeed, and very secure for the customers

Sorry for the strong words,
But I think it's a disgrace you've not yet released a new firmware for the 200er's. You shouldn't have made promises if you weren't going to supply with the software.
I know you didn't give any dates, but that doesn't put you "on the safe" side, since you did publish all those polls and shady statements.

After 8 months IMO you should've declared that future support is dead and then surprise the owners.

Not sure I would've done the same deal back when I bought it if I'd known that it was the "finished" product (a200). And I'm certainly not sure I'd go for Popcorn next time.

Chris, you keep saying this but Werner has always said there will be a 200 series firmware before the port, so voting yes has never given them an excuse to delay the 200 series firmware.

I think the truth is more likely they didn't expect the 300 series to be as buggy as it has proven to be, which means a large amount of development time spent on A-300 and C-300 firmware issues rather than addressing the 200 series which is comparatively stable.

The 300 series is not that 'buggy'. It is the most complete NMT on launch to date. The problems with audio were introduced with a new Sigma kernel released right on launch. Syabas have sent their own employees to Sigma to get the issue fixed.

I agree Werner has said that there will be one last 200 series firmware before the port. However in my opinion as Syabas regard the 200 firmware as stable it will not be any great fix-all firmware I'm afraid. Also the point that as the UI and jukebox are changing then they wont fix many of the things due to the upcoming changes. We have had Syabas commit to fixing bugs before on the 200 series:

and it never happened.

What I see happening chronologically is that we will have continued 300 releases. A 200 series last firmware with gaya in. Then more 300 series firmwares whilst the 200 backport is being worked on. Then finally the backport of the 300Ui/NMJv2 with the removal of gaya and reliance on flash.

Maybe it is a good idea to finaly solve the current issue's that are in the a-200 and keep the interest of youre current client base, instead of allready pushing out new hardware. I payed good money for a box that is good up to certain point. It has never been working flawless, and neither where all things working in a order as was advertised when i bought it.

I think by now all openstanding issues with it should be known.
The biggest problem i have with it is that i frequently have to restart the whole box, while changing movie formats, realy annoying.

The a-200 was recommended by a bunch of friends to me, while they had good experiances with earlier versions, however i will reconcidder buying stuff from you again due to false prommises and the lack of support in solving all openstanding issue's.
