Just to highlight some points : I completed succesfully the STEPSTONE update, reconnected HDD, and installed latest NMT Apps. The machine was OK for about two weeks, and then ( for the fist time since i bought it ), ENTERED " FW recovery " state!

If you successfully updated then it will still have the keys updated. You have stepped through the online firmware so cannot go back, that's why its a stepstone update and why you have to wait for the next offline firmware release.

The recovery image is only usually a renamed firmware. So as soon as the next firmware is out, which will be offline and online, then the recovery image will most likely just be that firmware just renamed. So you will be recovering with the latest firmware and not an old one.

Unless I'm reading this wrong, mavram's C200 is currently updated but bricked. Maybe not everyone understands the 'cannot go back' concept but they will understand the 'cannot use my C200 until the next release comes out'.

Is there nothing that can be done to help?

Hi, send two messages to werner to reset my mac and nothing. Can't update still same error59. I did upgrade step by step, but as long as my mac is locked I can'd update.

They should be reset nightly as werner no longer needs the list. if you still need help there is a real customer support email address they might be able to help you further.

Recovery Image released on the forum first, take note this recovery Image will only work if you already updated successfully to 03-04-110530-21-POP-408, don't try to flash this firmware on normal way it could brick your unit!!! It will only work if you need to Recover!!!

I have spent 30 years in IT. I am familiar and understand every technical aspect of such procedures.

I'm having a problem and not sure if it's releated to the lastest FW. However, I didn't have a problem before updating as I can remember.

I'm trying to play a BR ISO file, it starts and it askes me if I want to Resume Playback. If I select yes, the PCH freezes and I need to reboot. If I select No the PCH freezes. I tried clearing the Cache to see if it would make it start from the beginning but it still asks to resume playback. I have a 4mb USB flash drive inside for my apps. Only the standard apps are installed. Is this where it stores this infor and would it help if I increased the size of this. I have a 250gb 2.5 drive I could use.

Also, how to I clear this out, I can't start the movie.

Greetings ... my FIRST post and it is one I am really unsure of

I have just spent the better part of an hour reading 29 pages of forum messages trying to figure out why the online update died with ERR015 for me ...

However, the more I read, the less I want to update. I read that it may be necessary for future problems, but I have one of the first C200 units and I have never had a problem updating ... this seems like a lot of work and not easily done.

The main thing is the old expression ... it ain't broke, so should i fix it? I don't have a BD drive in the unit, just internal SATA and external USBs.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

If your backups don't have any protection on them then you don't need the update.

However, if you need to install any subsequent firmware updates to fix any issues you have then you'll have to install it ultimately.

But, so long as you're not playing BD backups with protection or BDs themselves (which you obviously aren't) then it won't make any difference to you for the time being.

Update for the simple reason that you will have to get any future updates, and there are some good new things coming.

You may aswelll update now while this firmware and it's thread are current.
