Question for those who get ERRO59.....
Do you have CSI LTU installed? My update went smooth after un-installing LTU, I would like to make sure if that was coincidence or cause... |

You didn't really ask this but to add to your list, I did not have csi installed at all. I was a firmware+nmt setup and I worked the first time (within about 10 mins of the update being posted on the forum).

Hi willem thats very interresting, i totally forget about that.
1. unistall LTU package with the CSI App!! removing the HDD won't work because LTU change also parts inside the NAND which is firmware part!!! 2. unplug your HDD where your NMT Apps are installed! 3. update firmware to 110422 again (update the same firmware with USB) http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...?tid=51992 4. clear cache, restore factory setting, reboot clear cache: goto Setup=>Maintenance and press the filemode button on your Remote restore factory defaults: goto Setup=>Maintenance and press on "reset to factory settings" 5. wait for the MAC unblock i will post a message here if our engineer resetted the failed macs again. 6. do the online update again if you get again ERR00064.217 then you don't need to try again and again you have to wait then again that the mac gets resetted!!! there won't come a firmware fix, because the firmware has no issue! currently it seems that some user packages, currently we know only about LTU, is causing the update issue.

werner
New firmware has really issue when checking firmware hack (e.g. cross-firmware checking) LTU not performed any firmware hacking, LTU only write on: initramfs (extracted in the RAM) /nmt (first partition in NMT storage, update pure-ftpd and transmission) /share (last partition in NMT storage, used CSI dir Apps) some settings ("btpdserv 0"/"btpdserv 1") It is all! After remove NMT storage and reboot PCH, firmware returned in original state. Today, after this operations, after cleaning cache and reset settings to default, my firmware update is completed successfull. |

That did the trick. Still I'm curious what exactly the problem was, previously I have updated with LTU installed (might have been an older version, can't remember) , so something, somewhere has changed. I would hate to have to perform this whole routine with every update.

hi padavan, we think LTU is using the memory location which is needed for the key programming, thats the reason for the failed updates, we have confirmation from 5 users now that it works after removing the LTU package.

there won't be issues with later firmwares, because the difference with this build is that it needs to program the key which happens online, for which it needs memory which is used by the LTU package.
