Hello there,
I am wondering if is it possible to use internat SATA connector to connect optical drive to my A110 to play DVD'S and other supported files. Yes I know, one can always dump content of DVD to HDD but I have many of them so it's a lot of time and space. Would be such drive recognizable? Has anyone tried it? |

I think a USB drive would work.

I just share the optical drive from my PC and the PCH can access it and play DVDs that way.

SATA, it is internal BD-ROM drive on my PC. Share it like any other drive.
I would assume it could play a data disc with files, like any other network share. I use it for Blu-Ray and DVD and am pretty sure I've browsed the Blu-Ray folder structure and played a specific m2ts file before. I can double check it, but don't see why it wouldn't work. |

My EG-34A does not see a SATA DVD drive connected to the SATA port, but happily works with it when it is connected to the USB port (via SATA->USB adapter).
