Popcorn Remote by Achemy - playing complete albums
When I use my iPad remote control-app for PCH C-200 by Achemy, I'm having trouble playing an entire CD. I can open everything perfectly, but I can just click on a single track, and then it only plays that track, without continuing. I would like it to play the entire album. How do I do that?

There is a play button, but that doesn't seem to solve the problem.

There's this screen "Browse", in which you can browse through your PCH and your network. You can go to the album or folder you want to play, but then you can just click on a track.

Then there's this screen "Popcorn", which is basically the real remote control screen (FF, pauze, volume etc.). There's even a button to go the next track, but that doesn't work, cause you've only selected that one track!

Maybe I'm making a very simple mistake here Blush but I can't seem to get this playing an entire album.

RE: Popcorn Remote by Achemy - playing complete albums
If you press play on the first track then it should continue playback through all of the tracks.

If you press enter then it only plays the track you press enter on.

I understand that's how it works with the actual remote control that comes with the PCH. But with the iPad App, you just click on the filename in order to start. There's no Enter or Play involved. Once the file starts playing you can go the aforementioned Popcorn-screen with all the remote functions, but you can't press "play" then in order to get continuous playing.

Ask the developer if no one using chimes in.

I have. Kind of hard to reach, hope to see a reply.

I know this app is not a part of the actual Popcorn Hour, but I'd hoped you guys were familiar enough with it to know the answer.Undecided

RE: Popcorn Remote by Achemy - playing complete albums
Since this crappy remote app Angry seems to be going nowhere, with a developer that can't be reached and a forum that doesn't work, how about other remote apps? How about iRule for example? Does anybody have any experience with good remote control apps for PCH C-200, NOT using IR, since I want to be able to operate my PCH C-200 outdoors (playing music on my outdoor speakers).

P.S., Is there a way you people from Popcorn Hour get into contact with this Roman Shterenzon (developer of the popcorn hour remote app) and send his ass back to work? Angry

It's not a syabas product, they have no control over a community developer..

Don't have a posh phone, still using my trusty Motorola V3 it'll be retro soon.

Can't believe that there isn't an app that does what you want. What about the other ipad nmt apps?
How far does the RF remote work from? RF should carry some way and doesnt need line of sight. Just asking out of interest as you mentioned using in garden etc. your phone. I know you want a nice display to select from so the RF won't do what you want.

Don't have a posh phone either, a pretty ancient HTC Touch Void, but it does what it needs to do. I do own an Ipad, though.

Gael posted on another thread that I should try MPaD with MPD on the PCH. Haven't had the time to try that one out yet, and I am a little reluctant because of the complexity. Is that an option you could recommend?

As I said the developers of the remote controllers in the iPadstore (Alchemy and Luke Hines) couldn't be reached. I've posted a question on the blog of the NMT remote app by Theodorus Emmanuel http://capekael.blogspot.com/2011/03/nmt...1861852633

Waiting for his response.

RE: Popcorn Remote by Achemy - playing complete albums
Got the response I wanted, installed the NMT installer, installed the Lundman shell on my USB-stick (since I don't have an internal HDD). Works okay, I get a connection there between the iPad app and the PCH!

But I can't see my Diskstation (Synology NAS) under Network Sources. I read that I'm supposed to add these in network share: http://188.138.72.109/showthread.php?tid...pid=477225
But for some reason, when I find my Diskstation while browsing for network sources to add, and I want to click on it to add it, it says "No content on server (or something similar, have to translate from Dutch Undecided)

I have NFS and FTP enabled on my NAS. I feel like I'm getting close to making this work. Any advice on the problem above?
... After installing NMT installer, it said something about using nc (netcat) to open a port and use something involving my IP-adress. Didn't quite get that part Undecided

Yes, it works! Big Grin

When UPNP is disabled and all relevant parts of my synology NAS got the proper sharing protocol (FTP, SMB) I was able to access stuff with the NMT remote.

With all of this I have also reached closure on a couple of other problems:
- I am now able to run NMJ
- I am now able to play .flac
- I am now able to open video files in my foto directory and vice versa.

Life just got a little more awesome! Wink

RE: Popcorn Remote by Achemy - playing complete albums
There should be a big Red Warning sticker on all upnp products. Same with DNLA, people think that if they see two devices with DNLA or UpNp that there are compatible.

The first thing i did in DSM was turn OFF the Synology Multimedia server as it does not allow playback of as many file types as a standard shared folder (SMB) or NFS. The display options that upnp may seem to offer over simple shares can usually be solved by using a jukebox.

RE: Popcorn Remote by Achemy - playing complete albums
Unfortunately Teo's app is very unstable. The whole LUndmann shell stuff causes it to reboot frequently. So I'm kind of hoping the Achemy app improves OR the mobileRC by Syabas gives you visual feedback about what's on the PCH screen.

This should not be so hard, dammit
