HELP! networking problems?

Firstly, thansk for reading this, if you can offer help, it will be greatly appreciated.

Ok, here goes.

I have owned a popcorn hour a-110 for around 18 months now and have had it set up via ethernet and myihome since day 1 with not too many problems that I have not been able to solve myself using these forums and wiki guides.
I recently changed broadband provider from fibre optic to adsl for financial resons and in doing so, I have had to locate my router in another part of the house. This means I cannot have both popcorn and pc thru the router. I now have my popcorn via ethernet direct to the pc and the pc wirelessly to the router. For the last 2 days I could have internet, or popcorn but not both. I have somehow solved this (I dont know how, just lots and lots of playing around) and my network on the pc shows "multiple networks" which is good. However, my smb share is no longer working and i cannot play ISO files over myihome.
I have reinputted the smb settings as smb:\\daz-pc\users\daz\videos
my username as "daz"
my password is the homegroup password (the pc has no password)
but i keep getting username password incorrect. I have tried no password username and all combinations I have changed the path to smb:\\daz-pc\videos but to no avail. do I have to set something else up on the pc for smb shares?

What i really want to do is set up a sext looking gui YAMJ as the standard gui is very taseless but without smb I am falling at the first hurdle.

I am using win 7 ultimate, ethernet, popcorn hour a-110 with latest firmware.

Sounds like you are confusing W7 Homegroup with simple sharing and the use of workgroups. Homegroups and homegroup passwords mean nothing to the PCH. You want to connect and share via simple sharing aka Samba aka SMB. So follow the procedure of setting up your PC, setting up the drives/folders to share, giving the correct permissions, etc.

thanks alot for the help, yes indeed, I was thinking that the homegroup played a part in this... I will follow the instructions in the links and see if i can make progress here.
