Problem with Multi-channel PCM on A-210

I have the A-210 with the latest firmware, connected to my AVR via HDMI. In A-210 settings, I have eveything set to passthrough to my AVR, Onkyo TX-SR608.

However, I'm not getting any audio when playing Blu-ray rips in MKV format. Used MakeMKV. Here's the audio info from the 'AC/DC: Live at River Plate' Blu-ray. Same problem on Billy Joel's recent 'Shea Stadium' Blu-ray as well.

There has been some problems with makeMKV recently not producing MKV files that can play on hardware players. Visit the makeMKV forum for further details.

Always include the full mediainfo output.

Thanks, it indeed looks to be a bug in MakeMKV, expected to be addressed in a future version.

It's not MakeMKV's fault. The Matroska format itself is not compatible with LPCM audio codec so far. See details in the MKV specs.

A fix here is to extract the LPCM audio from MKV and convert it to PCM/DTS/Dolby Digital audio and re-pack it to MKV.

Or you rip the Blu-ray again with some other app. A guide FYI below:

Thanks, I followed the steps in the link I posted (at the MakeMKV forum) because I wanted to retain the lossless audio. So, I demuxed my affected MKV's with HdBrStreamExtractor to get a WAV file, then remuxed with MKVMerge. What's odd is MediaInfo's output for audio looks to be identical, but the MKV's now play fine with LPCM audio on my PCH-A210.
