Frequent Crashes
NMT 210
Firmware Latest I upgraded my A110 to a shiny new 210 on Monday got it all working. Using Kdoske and YAMJ. My problem is that I get intermittent crashes; alot of them. Finish playing a MKV file? thats a crash, playing music? Thats a crash. Problem is that its almost never consistent but it does happen and it happens a lot. My questions are: Do the dev team know of this? If they do its an A class so should be fixed before features are added. Is it my PCH thats faulty? Can I fix this by downgrading the FW, if possible? I know I'm not the only one, and its marring my enjoyment of this shiny new toy, its even making me wish I hadnt sold my A110. Thanks Steve |

RE: Frequent Crashes
Any chance your watching something on youtube prior to it being unstable? i've noticed some of the streaming content in apps seem to make local file playback very unreliable.

RE: Frequent Crashes
no, I only watch you tube on the computer.
The music files are used using NMJ which is on the PCH proper. Is it normal to have that "verifying database" in the bottom lefthand corner all the time? I've tried to turn it off but with no success. |

RE: Frequent Crashes
Right narrowed it down, its while the NMT is scanning.
Right I tested it, it is steps to reproduce seem pretty simple. Please let me know if this is going to be looked into. |

RE: Frequent Crashes
I take it you are still talking about when within NMJ? NMJ has been reworked and updated, it will be released soon and to Beta Testers in around a fortnight.

It's in Settings under the Preferences menu. That way the scan doesn't start whenever you start NMJ. When you have added some media, you can then start the scan manually from inside NMJ. Choose a suitable time to do it (not when you want to watch a movie/music). 1. Bring up the blue menu. 2. Click the "back arrow" on the remote which brings up the green menu. 3. Select the second item from the bottom (looks like a person in front of a gear wheel). 4. Select "Scan media source" 5. Select "Rescan" or "Update". Rescan deletes the current database and then does a full scan. Update only updates the changes. |
